Have been suffering form knee pain for 3 weeks. I don't recall any incidence of injury. However, the rear outside part of my right knee is bothering me. It seems to be ligament related as the pain is not exactly at the joint, but at lower part. It's noticeable when I bend it.

So, anyone knows the technical term I could use to search for more information?

It's been close to 1.5 year. Just thought I'd check back and update, in case this would help some people here.
The problem lasted for a couple of months. It's not just the knew area. Rather, it's the entire outside of my lower leg. It'd severely affected my movement on court. At times, I wanted to jump to get a shot, and the pain would pull me back. I ended up limbing around every time after games.

When to see my family doctor. He prescribed something for me that seemed to improve things. The pain seemed to disappear. After a couple of days, the pain reappeared. Eventually, I got referral to see sports injury specialist. The diagnosis was that I got pinched nerves. It recovered on its own, though after quite some time. To this day, I still don't know how I got this pinched nerve thing. Perhaps posture?

When was the last time you changed to a new pair of shoe? For me, knee pain is mostly due to shoe wearing out or too much shock to the knee.

If you had just change to a new pair of shoe, then it might not suit you and an old pair might have worn out. Wearing an additional pair of sock will help to absorb some shock from your knee too.

It wasn't just knee pain as I originally claimed; the entire outside of my lower limb was painful. Thankfully, it's all recovered some time ago.
