can someone give the youtube channel link here? can't seem to find via google search of 'kento momota youtube channel'
桃田賢斗YouTubeチャンネル 仮 Momota's Youtube channel: https://www.youtube.com/channel/UCwf8veewSudlOdWZpodYuXg Hope we can seen him on court soon, I miss him play.
I wonder wonder wonder what would happen if he played Axelsen! I have never seen Axelsen this fit, fast, powerful, agile and even playing with such variety of shots. It seems like he underwent some transformation specially to play against Momota. He rallies a lot now. It's not a problem for him! I hope Momota has unlocked another gear as well. Cause the Momota of 2019/2020 would probably have a hard time playing this Axelsen. I'm not saying lose to him but having a hard time.
Axelsen has been fit before, has rallied before. The commentators are just currently running out of superlatives because they have to explain the shocking level of play away that most of the players display across all disciplines. Ginting and Christie play like crap (Ginting also seems to breathe really heavy these days, even in the first game), Antonsen and LZJ are overrated and/or out of shape and CTC is just CTC, a player who has a horrendours h2h against any good player. The others in this glorious World Tour Finals aren't even worth mentioning. So Axelsen is playing good badminton at the moment, but literally nobody else is. It's the same for WS, by the way.
Fully agree with the above post. Watching Ginting vs. Axelsen yesterday was utterly disappointing, Ginting amassed a scary amount of unforced errors, looked slow, unmotivated and out of shape. I also felt disappointed watching Antonsens matches, however, I have to be fair and admit that I am not a big fan of his. Especially after he marched in sporting the Danish flag into the Final in Basel in 2019. I perceived the way he did it and his body language as extremely arrogant. Gill and Morten still manage to find very positive adjectives describing his latest performances, they even mentioned said 2019 Final match and the "accumulated fatigue" which of course was the sole reason why he lost the match ...
I just watched Ginting's collapse against CTC. Gil admitted that to her, the entire team Indonesia apart from Polii/Rahayu didn't "look as sharp as you'd expect them to be". Steen then added that team India had even been seperated for nearly a year (training in different cities) prior to the Thailand tournaments. So at least there is some admission that a) the level of play is not good and b) even the players and teams who are participating have had very different opportunities. A while back I said that this whole Covid badminton seemed like a point-haul for team Denmark and I was criticized because I was "singeling out" one team. At the moment it should be quite apparent that not everyone could even remotely train as much or as well as they wanted to and that the ones who could are profitting off this situation. Axelsen obviously put the work in and does quite well and to see HKV contest a 1000 tournament final was really nice. We also saw that the Denmark Open final was contested by two guys who had never been in a 750 final before. But make no mistake, there's a whole lot of reasons for that apart from "they worked really hard in training." That is why I find these heaps of praises constantly passed around quite suspect. But I guess the show must go on. To get back on topic, I hope Momota currently sees a lot of players struggling for fitness and match fitness and realizes he need to get himself in at least the best physical shape he can possibly be in. The Olympics will apparently go ahead and there are not a lot of opportunities to fine-tune your game ahead of them.
I don't know ... to be honest there are a few movements that I have never seen Axelsen made before. I can't wait to see Momota. I can't wait. I'm tired of the wait. Let the king out.
Viktor's performance is so good now, I don't know whether Momota can stop Viktor now or Viktor will break his losing chain
No doubt at all on VA fitness before but this VA for me is like on steroids. I haven't seen him make this kind of move and being able to handle rallies and rallies. Now to be fair the rallies haven't been Momota-length but still. @terrynguyen121988 I hope Momota is watching this. He is on youtube now. He should be watching it.
And I hope you are watching the final, mate. It seems beating a bunch of out of shape and out of form people during a pandemic should not be overestimated.
Whatever, I am soooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooo going to the Momota Kento Arena. I don't care if I suck at badminton. I'm going!
Hard to say for sure but most likely for patella tendonitis? It's on his strong leg. Probably to release some pain in the lower knee. I had to strap my knee the same way for weeks following a minor knee injury after too much workload in training. It works a bit. Better than nothing. Altough he might be using it for other purposes.
Yeah, when I saw the three top choices for channel name, I began to understand what @kurako meant when she said Japan was an inward-looking country.
