In my Universe, Momota looked slow and a step behind Kidambi. Made it an easy win at the net, but lost the crash boom bang battle.

    17-21 21-18 21-16 win for Kidambi.

Even I thought that too. One is saying 21-9, 21-7 and while another saying some other thing. I keep on looking for h2h records when did Momota beaten kidambi with that score. Nowhere.
Hope members here talk about relevant information rather giving false data.

In a mirror world, Kidambi lost 4 match points to Momota, 1 clear out of back line, one net kill went out, one smash went out, 3 points awarded to KM upon KS displaying frustration my smashing his racket out of the side line.

Momota with a flying start over Kidambi. However, at 20-4 for Momota, Kidambi lands a powerful smash. This helps Kidambi to claw back the lead of Momota to 20-13. Momota raise the pace incredibly and hits a smash. Kidambi put a racket on it but it goes out. Momota win the first game with a 'wasooo'.

Second game it is bad weather for Momota as it starts raining smashes. Doubts creep in - he starts looking at Kidambi - as if he was saying - 'how can he smash that hard'. Momota starts to get dejected. Second game goes to Kidambi at 21-17.

Third game Momota tries to up the pace and rush the rallies. The points are distributed at a 50-50 ratio. At 17-16 for Momota, Kidambi starts to read Momota's attacks and attack him back with interest. 2 power smashes lead to 2 consecutive points boosting the confidence of Kidambi and reminding him of his form in 2017-2018 (can't believe it has been that long already). At 17-18, Kidambi is dominating the rallies. Despite Momota managing to wrestle 2 more points. The match finishes at 19-21 with the V going to Kidambi.

From my research, the game didn't end this way.

It ended with two games, with first game 22-20 to Momota and during 2nd game, at point 19-5, Momota thundered a cross court unreturnable smash and in the process broke his racquet and without any spare racquets, he had to concede the match with a score of 22-20, 20-5. An unexpected ending to a thrilling match.

But...Kidambi was gracious and offered a rematch which will take place in about 1.5 hours time after the XD match. Hope the match will finish without any retirements or walkovers.

Chill dude - I have absolutely zero control over the outcome of this match :p If I had I would make Momota win 2nd and 3rd game - 30-29 every match his plays lol.

Oh I see :p Yes that's more realistic :p Good gesture by Kidambi though.

Instead of doing neutralising shots we do 'inside doubles lines' lift now

wonderful! I didn't know that Nishimoto was watching this thing.

It's a good experience to learn (change pace and change attack style by drive and push over the head)
