    I searched with "japan player" but no records matched. Weird...

    Anyway, mods, please merge or simply delete it...

    That's because they play for teams :cool:..
    Like Ogura and Shiota play for Sanyo, and Shoji Sato plays for NTT East Japan, etc..

    yes team name but numbers? there are only two or four players on the badminton court unlike eg. soccer or basketball or netball

    Mm, I guess it's just a way to identify players in a particular company. Like how there's an ongoing "inter-company" badminton tournament in Japan, there can be quite a handful of players representing one company. With numbers indicated on their jerseys, I reckon it's easier to recognise them.

    I think I see the word "Gorilla" too. >.<

    ikeda is really fun to watch, really gets some crazy returns. sakamoto didn't impress me as much. i hope they do well in the future. btw those are are kawaii!
