Good morning guys....it's 5am (yet again) in the morning at Salt Lake City. I finished all my business related stuffs yesterday but was too tired to log on at night and watch the events unfold. I ended up sleeping early at around 10pm after an exhausting day.

It's good to see that INA players have exceeded my expectation and some "dark horses" have progressed to the Final tomorrow.

First, in the men's singles, Taufik Hidayat really showed that he wanted to win this one badly after some below par performances in the World Championships. As expected, he sent Lee Chong Wei packing home in straight sets. It was a comprehensive victory for him and he will now face his nemesis, Lin Dan, in the Final. A tough match for him, but, if he can stay to this form, I expect him to beat Lin Dan in 3-sets.

In the men's doubles, I am honestly surprised to see Tony Gunawan/Candra Wijaya beat the current world champion Fu Haifeng/Cai Yun in such a short time. It's almost an insult to the Chinese pair and Li Yongbo will definitely be very furious! Again, it shows that Fu/Cai are NOT UNBEATABLE. However, most of the pairs go out of the court already fearful of their attacking prowess (eg: Luluk/Alvent) and played according to their rythm. Christian Hadinata was right in saying that the key to beat Fu/Cai is to play smartly with a lot of good placement and drives. Make them run all over the court and don't allow them to attack! It's Koo Kien Keat/Tan Boon Heong next for the ex Olympic champion, and I believe Tony/Candra should have an edge and they should win their third title of the year.

Lastly, in the mixed doubles, it's a joyful day for Pelatnas as Nova Widianto/Lilyana Natsir and Flandy Limpele/Vita Marissa both progressed to the Final for an all-Indonesian Final. The victory by Nova/Butet against Xie/Zhang again show that the Chinese pair has still yet to regain top form. Xie Zhongbo has "retired" from men's doubles and he wants to concentrate on the mixed event. This pair still remains Indonesia's biggest threat to the gold medal in Doha!

As for Flandy/Vita, they have really surpassed all expectations by beating the WC silver and bronze medallist + the 2-times Olympic gold medallist en-route to the Final. However, I don't see them winning the title tomorrow as Nova/Butet will be determined to win their 5th title this year to make up for that huge disappointment in the WC last month!

Hahaha....did not have the chance to watch the match but anyway Tony/Candra have the overall skill to defend, attack and tricks. Badminton is not just about speed and stamina.

last time in WC, LYB called BCL to break LCW's leg, and LCW got frustated and complained about that. the umpire warned him not to complain so much. and ...haiz..you know lah..

Excuse me. Please validate the accusation before you make a repeat of what others "said".

I would like to propose to the editor of this website to only allow publication of result of the game/match only. Stop all those "rubbish" right now. I felt a lump in the throat when i saw those "rubbish" comments and i felt like getting bored with this website except to get some results out of it.

I must express my appreciation to those who keep others informed on the results.

Why in the world would LYB asked BCL to break LCW's leg? What was happening back there? Im sure it was not a wrestling match was it? Cant imagine two "skinny" guys wrestle. Hahaha.....

    TH vs Lin Dan

Well my support goes to TH :D

Lin Dan hmmmmm, I wonder if he is the best if not for LYB shouting around :D hehehehe. And when he wins a match, he will run around doing things to get people attention ( huh like he wins it all by himself - LYB). What a shame.

Well TH, he do it all by himself ... go TH. :D

come on la Hitman71, be realistic with your comments, very baised indeed,
what about taufik then? win already cry? lose also cry? what do you have to comment on that then? too touched because he won? if that is the case then what is wrong with lin dan proving that he can defeat his opponents as well?

for godness sake, he doesnt need to get people's attention, you can close your eyes if you find it an eyesore when is lin dan taking off his shirt or whatsoever.

and he already has enough attention.
