The finals were amazing matches. All went to 3 games except for the Men's Doubles. I didn't stick around to watch the Women's doubles because I had a prior engagement to attend to, and the final game between Lin Dan and Taufik was just disgusting. Never expected the matches to be that great and take that long. ESPECIALLY the Women's singles final between Zhang Ning and Xie Xing Fang. That final game was AMAZING. You can't get any better than that. Gunawan and Wijaya were laughing on the side because of how close the game was, and also I guess because they were warming up, cooling down, and then having to warm up again because of how long the Women's singles finals was. I'm transferring the photos I took to my computer and then going to have to edit a few to be able to post them. I took way too many photos of Tony and Candra

Yeah! I've never seen a game go to 30 before (I've heard of them but this is the first I've ever seen). And for it to be in the last set! It was sure tense :p.

EDIT: Where can I get a shirt with a collar like Lin Dan's (and I think XXF's too)? It's so cool!

EDIT2: Hehe, that would have been funny :D.

Seriously? Gunawan and Wijaya were laughing? haha :D It must have been very funny to warm up and cool down again.. But, the match between ZN and XXF was really really great.

    Here's some pics.

The one with Kaneko Yonekura is an exhibition match between her and a middle school student (I think). The announcement made by the Japanese announcer was that the student has always looked up to Kaneko and wants to be like her one day. She was really happy to have the chance to play against her, and was doing a pretty good job. They were both having a lot of fun. I didn't take any pictures of the opening show/dance or the show/dance following the women's singles because it was just pointless and a waste of memory space in my opinion. No one found it interesting...

I have no Women's Doubles pictures because I was out of time and I was also disappointed by the final game between Lin Dan and Taufik, so I just decided to leave.

I was surprised to see Taufik smiling there. He wasn't happy when the match ended. He gave up and just hit around and purposely hit the final shot into the net and was following that shot forward to the net to "shake" Lin Dan's hand. Anyway, here's 2 quick shots I took of the inside of the stadium. They had a small net and court setup to allow fans to test out racquets and hit around. The gift store really sold out after the Quarterfinals.

Taufik usually accepts defeat in the end.. Obviously 3rd set he was probably disappointed and gave up..
Anyway... this stadium looks really awesome! What is it usually used for?

This is kind of a national gym. It's used for all types of events (concerts, sports events, etc.). The Japan Open is usually held in the stadium the Thomas/Uber Cup was held in (I think), but since it's under renovation this stadium was used.
