    Taufik's loss

He seems slow on court and his smashes are not as penetrating as before. That's why he cannot finish in 2 sets although he got many lifts.

My guess is that Taufik overestimated himself. He thought his current form is enough to beat LD. It turned out he needs to do more training in the following two months. :D

what happen was lin dan unleashed his true potency over the over hyped taufik. LD is good and ready to play the 4th and 5th sets if they was one. LD not only won, he dominated TH.

LCW should learn from this match how to beat taufik.
I think lcw has the skills to beat taufik as well.
He has to learn the same way as LD early days with taufik, don't get psych out by taufik's presence just because he's OC gold medalist. TH is just another beatable player

Taufik mentally is corrupt after third game beginning, cause too much mistake cause him give up the third game. But second game should be win if he is more concertration and energitic. As from the tv show, Li dan is no really happy or satisfy he win so easily in third set even he is knowing Taufik is just throwing the points to him.

Li dan is too strong for every player in the world currently, no one can beat him even taufik. But it is in this moment only....how about 2008?

2years from now TH will be 26/7 while LD is 25/6

for 2008, i think LD will has his golden year, as athletic as LD is, he should be able to extend his career to 27/8 if he can polish his skills when his physical edge over others start to fade.

LD started to be aware of TH net play in the beg. of 3rd game. After LD tap and won couple point at the net + couple more aggressive smashed + some unforced error from TH. TH knows that he is not going to win....
LD is very FIT!! That's all I can say....

Taufik lost because he gave up. It's as simple as that.

Why he gave up, you can fill in that blank.

As for what I think, I bet Taufik felt even if he played his best in the 3rd set, he would have still lost. So instead of trying, he layed up. Taufik did not want to face reality, the possibility that if he played his best he could be beat.

EXACTLY, Taufik wants to be his own man.
Since he knows he can't win, he's not out there to entertain anybody.
Why bother playing the last few points? Just pack up and leave.
He didn't even bother to give his opponent the respect and satisfaction for kicking his arse and wiping him all over the court in the last set.
Bring on Lee Chong Wei instead!

while the 2nd game was tied at 15-15, taufik's concentration and stamina dropped tremendously, I think that led to his defeat in the 2nd game.

In the 3rd game, it's very obvios at the start, Taufik's concentration and stamina had lost, he knew with his stamina level he couldn't fight anymore.
    That's why he gave up

1.poor outfit (as usual, he should have hired private designer).
2.trauma of the old time (making lots of unforced errors in the final).
    3.no fortunate bad calls.
4.LYB is not on court so he misses LYB so much.
5.still exhausted from playing LCW yesterday.
6.no beautiful indonesian student girls cheered him up in stadium.
7.no typical 'Taufik Taufik' singing in stadium.
8.LD did not want to play in the net again.
9.too low current rank, lack of tournament.
10.changes of style of play in the 2nd set and especially in the 3rd set.
    11.lost when nova/lily also lost.

That's all I have, perhaps one of the reason matches the truth. :D :crying::crying:

But do not forgot about LCW and the younger CJ! Both will be as equally dangerous and experience then, just like LD!
