It was an incredible victory for the Germans as they upset the Olympics champions. It also shows how bad the INA pair has turned into lately. Honestly, I don't see any chance of them getting past top Asian pairs like Fang/Lee and Fu/Cai with this kind of disjointed performance. They will get thrashed. Kido was out of sorts with his numerous errors (as usual) and no wonder he was targetted a lot by the Germans. His face was as white as a paper...and this certainly does not bode well for the INA pair. I concur that Hendra Setiawan (who showed some of his brilliance in the first-set) needs a better pair if he want to last till the next Olympic.
I left the arena about 1h30 ago... Here's the last few pics I took : http://yfrog.com/cbmz2bj http://yfrog.com/n36i0sj http://yfrog.com/6xul7jj http://yfrog.com/ghqxecj http://yfrog.com/4ywh1tj http://yfrog.com/nb9yhrj http://yfrog.com/9gqu6xj
It's too late. I am already resigned to the fact that they will not beat Fang/Lee in the Team Event. In the Individual Event, they may not even beat Chen Hung-Ling/Lin Yu-Lang as well.
