    A surprise indeed

    hi guys

i was there in the match where simon defeated taufik. it was awesome cos when the game started, the audience moved toward court 1 just to watch taufik and near the end, they started to boo taufik instead and cheer simon :)
    really weird crowd!

but hey...i saved my voice for the semifinal so i didnt yell/cheer that much yesterday, only last game between luluk/alven and lee wan wah/choong tan fuk.
it was an awesome game. too bad luluk alven lost.

will try to update result when i go to istora later this afternoon

    Hi eva,
from what you saw, do you think Taufik lose to Simon or purpose?
Some people here *suspect* that is the case. But I read in some media Taufik says, "Saya tidak mengalah, saya kalah beneran kok!"

    Your thought please, thank you

I think TH did it in purpose as a part of PBSI planning for Simon to gain more W ranking points as Simon seldom activley compete lately....

" Saya tidak mengalah, saya kalah beneran kok!" what does this mean?? can someone help to translate this sentence ??
Chris, can you pls translate ? ( btw, thanks for your earlier translation on the interview with Taufik )

Ya, I want to know the truth also whether Taufik did it on purpose. If it's part of the PBSI plan, then I would say it's not fair to Taufik coz he might just have a chance to win his 6th title.
Anybody has any more insight about this ???? pls share....:p

Translation : I did not deliberately lose. I really lost.

I don't think it's PBSI plan, since it's not final yet.

I'm getting contrasting results from the Malaysian media on this match.

Actually, I am a bit frustrated with the media on the reporting. A fresh new day now, and I have yet to see a listing of the full results for yesterday.

Thanks so much on the translation.
I just saw the paper, Taufik was indeed smiling when he shake hand with Simon after his defeat. Maybe it's true that he really lost to a better performed Simon, or his determination to grab this tittle is not as strong as in WC.

Now hope he can do well in upcoming China Open.

Before China Open (9-13 Nov) there are 2 big tournaments, Denmark Open (5star) 18-23 Oct and Hongkong Open (6star) 31 oct - 6 Nov. Think he will go for that also.

Actually, last time people were wondering why TH had difficulties winning tournaments outside Asia, such as All England, Denmark, etc, but since he won OG and WC, people seem never question this again. Now with OG and WC already in his hand, don't know whether he still aim to win those tournaments held outside Asia except All England (definitely he wants it) which is one of the prestigious tournaments

The translation by sen is correct. :).
Personally though, I don't think it was done on purpose by PBSI. Whatever Taufik said to the media/public, we just have to trust and go with it. But like i said before, we don't/won't know the *real* reason(s), only the players themselves know...:).

Hmm, eventhough those 2 tourneys are 5 and 6 star tourneys, I don't think Taufik will go for the Denmark Open nor HK Open, too close of a timeframe between now and China Open. I mean he could be attending and playing, depends also if all the top MS players will attend(yes the China's top players and PGade) , but *if* he will attend the China Open which is scheduled to to begin in early Nov., he will need lots of rest...just my gut feeling..

Plus also, I read in another media source(forgot which one and forgot to save the link),Taufik will have an exhibition match on the 27th of September, right after this IO. He will play MD against ex-Indonesian players incl. Christian Hadinata etc.
Can someone search this story, i believe it was posted 2-3 days ago-thx..

As for next year's All England, it is scheduled to be held on January 17-22,2006
