WMC has to start beating players from other countries first before she is expected to beat the Chinese wall. Sure she had a fabulous performance last year in the China Open, but what the heck has she did since?
I never said Tine is one hit wonder. She has definitely got what it takes to take down any chinese player with her superb attacking power play.

Agreed. Maria almost looks like the better player today and had she cut down some of her silly errors, she might have already wrapped this match in two games.

ZL sort of lucked out to win in the end. Wasn't impressed at all with her.
XXF and TR are the contenders for WS gold @ Olympics.

Taufik-ist, you're totally right. Volcom is back and barking again after knowing ZL won the match. But I'm sure Maria was making him worried for a few minutes; he doesnt want to swallow his own word again after he did in the 2nd set. LOL.

I would say that for most of the first and second games, Maria was controlling the game. But as you said, she just needs to cut down on her errors.

Incredible Maria! What a spirit from her! If her performance consistent like this, she will be one of dangerous female player for Chinese players beside Tine Rasmussen, WMC, and JJY. I think Maria should in world top 10 rank; her skill mainly her netting and drop shot is really great. Zhu Lin win because Maria made many mistakes in 3rd set. Anyway, Congrat to Zhu Lin and Maria. You both show great entertainment tonight!

Hey man, I'm on good terms with Klennex. WHat type of tissues do you prefer? Extra soft or one thats enriched with Aloe Vera to soothe your growing pains?

And yeah I am eating humble pie for disagreeing with Mr Taufik-1st about Maria not going to win the 2nd set.I stand to be corrected. :)

I read from the interview after her win yesterday, Maria said that after her match against XXF @ UC, she felt that she could compete with the Chinese players. I must give all the credits to Susi Susanti though.

She has a very cross court smash and explosive deception in her arsenal.

I agree with you. I think Susi Susanti gave back the motivation for Indonesian gals in UC, and after that their play level are increased. I really hope not only Maria and Vita/Lilyana, but all Indonesian players do it.
I still sad of Maria's lost, since she has big opportunity to topple ZL down. :crying::crying::crying:
