Just walked into hotel half an hour ago, the MAS squad were at the elevators.

And the Danish team came by with Tine Rasmussen in a lady's dress. Quite weird, never saw her without her playing attire. They were going to dinner, I think.

Anyway, two of our MD still alive at this point, pretty good ....

Wang Chen kept pointing at her arm... the area around her biceps and triceps... She refused painkiller treatment offered by the medic. Insisted on retiring. Shook Zhu Lin's hand and the ref's to surrender. The incident actually lasted 10 minutes or something because the honorary ref [an Indian looking fellow] refused to let her surrender and insisted that she played. I don't know why he had to do that. But Wang insisted that she does not want to continue and keep pointing at the area where it hurt.... Wang already carried her bag out of the court when... again, the honorary ref asked her to play on. So she put her bags down again and argued again that she is really hurt. After 10 minutes of lengthy discussion [that I could not hear], Wang and Zhu finally left the court. :)

Ever since the year started, this Djarum pair only lost once  [in Finland]... Denny Kantono [the 1996 Olympic Bronze Medalist] have coached them very well starting January 2008... I think they have a 14-1 record this year or something... :)

Aren't you glad you're mistaken today, badMania!!! :D

You're one of the few that predicted this, Erwin! ;)

Zhou & Yao could not control Maria's game, unlike in the past... I suppose this is a combination of Maria's improvement and Zhou & Yao's fatique... But Maria clearly showed she belonged in the same class as the 2 ex-China veterans this week... Tomorrow, the real Chinese veteran [Zhang Ning] will really test whether Maria is for real or not! :)

Dissapointing results so far for INA MDs squad. Despite going full strength (with the exception of Joko/Hendra AG), our only representative for SF is the legend pair of Tony/Candra. I know HS is still somewhat recovering but was hoping for other pair to do better.

Which reminds me, why Joko/Hendra AG isn't playing?

Let me present a conspiracy theory just for fun. :D

Wang Chen is trying to help Zhu Lin (both of them from Shanghai) in her competition for an Olympic spot (China needs to choose 3 out of 4. Only XXF is 100% safe).

Joko Riyadi was hospitalized while in Singapore last week, just before the first round match started....bad luck.

I was disappointed as well that Markis Kido/Hendra Setiawan lost to Tony Gunawan/Candra Wijaya  Enough said abt Luluk Hadiyanto/Alvent Yulianto with their early exits in the past 2 weeks. I believe the upcoming Beijing Olympics SHOULD BE the last time they compete as a pair.

Meanwhile, with a good draw, Bona Septano/Mohd Ahsan managed to score their biggest points this week, 5040 for a QF finish in a SS event. They even managed to beat Hoon Thien How/Ong Soon Hock in the Singapore SS R32, the surprise pair of this week.

Rizky Yanu Kresnayadi/Albert Saputra also shocked us by beating their senior Rian Sukmawan/Yonathan Suryatama Dasuki.

Hendra Setiawan has just recovered from a typhoid. Also, they tend to do well after the mid-year (like 2006 and 2007). We shall see....

Ups and downs are phases that most pairs go through, including Fu/Cai (no titles since Korea Open). Unless there's a serious communication breakdown between the 2 players, like between Luluk/Alvent or Koo/Tan perhaps (u should now better on this ;))

maybe one potential upset in WS match: Maria vs Zhang Ning....but if Maria lose to Zhang Ning...at least Maria gives a warning to Zhang Ning that she is one of player who can break Zhang Ning`s chance to win gold medal of Beijing Olympic...

If ZN lost to Maria...... I have a feeling LYB will withdrew her name and sending XXF, ZL & LL instead to OG.

OMG! You really counted everything! :p

So, an 89.47% win rate so far in 2008... A loss tomorrow, will mean a 17-3 record [85% win-rate], a win tomorrow will mean a 18-2 record [90% win rate]... :p
