It's Berry Angriawan/Rahmat Adianto, not Berry/Andrei Andrei Adistia/Christopher Rusdianto already won earlier today. Meanwhile, the MAS press is clearly under-estimating INA's serial Sirnas winners Rian Sukmawan/Rendra Wijaya as written in the Star today: "The men’s doubles will be in action today and, in the absence of several top pairs, fifth seeds Hoon Thien How-Tan Wee Kiong have a good chance to win their first title together." While they are no longer competing in the international tourneys as often as before, Rian/Rendra prove that they still have the skills to beat Hoon/Tan in rubber-sets. They have a very good chance to reach yet another QF, after achieving a similar feat at the INA SSP in June, beating Ko Sung Hyun/Yoo Yeon Seong along the way.
I also cannot resist making this remark below MD battle - INA 5 MAS 0 Rian/Rendra beat Hoon/Tan [5] Berry/Rahmat beat Fairuz/Zakry [6] Wahyu/Ade (newly formed MD pair) beat Nelson/Teo (reigning WJC champion) Ulin/Ricky [7] beat Chooi/Ow (former WJC champion too) Kido/Trikus beat Low/Tan
The only match that matters left: Fran/Shendy vs the CHN junior pair. I have a feeling Fran/Shendy might lose this one.
However, in MS, it's MAS 5 INA 0 I would say it's mostly due to the Hendrawan effect, who's possibly in charge of all the MAS MS players who win today except for Zulfadli.
Since Tan KH take over as chief coach, Malaysia MD pairs hardly win even a small tournament despite so many world junior champions ! What a shame !
Oh yes....That's true...It's like water in the dessert, very rare occasion...Liu Xin and Yao Xue are no pushovers.... Hopefully the upsets continues 2mrw and bring all the title Although Li Han and Nozomi still the fav...
I dunno whether I should proud or beatdown knowing that Hendrawan and Rexy effect are now in full motion
