    Hello All,
I am new to this forum and badminton. I am an ex-pat currently based in Jakarta. These are my very first action sports photographs. Whether you are a photographer, badminton fan or player, I'd be interested in your comments, good or bad, on these images I took at the Indonesia Open this week. I hope your comments will help me to improve for next time.
    Cheers.
    Michael.

Clarity very good. Did you use spot metering? Lighting seems pretty good for those low ISOs.

    Did you shoot RAW?

Wow, Ogura's eyes are so big to the point of scary.

I like the contemplative photo of Zhu Lin. We've seen enough of players in action. I like those shots of players in between rallies.

Looking back at it again, she wasn't contemplating. Just pinning back her hair, haha, still nice though.

that photo with zhu lin and pi hongyan looks really strange. ahahaha, it seems like she's got enough time to tie her hand before pi plays the shot!

Many Thanks to those of you who have taken the time to view my images and post a comment. Very much appreciated.

Cheung, yes I used spot metering and I always shoot in RAW. Most post processing done in Nikon Capture NX.

Dreamzz, LOL. That wasn't my intent with the photo, but interesting point of view:) I saw it as if she was going over the upcoming match in her mind.;) Yes, Reiko and Kumiko were definitely the most photogenic subjects at the tournament.:D

Thanks hcyong. I tried to capture some images between the action. To me, those images often tell so much about the mood and personality of the players.

    Cheers.

    Michael.

Wow, looks like Pi Hongyan is wearing Yonex shoes, Addidas clothing, and a Babolat racket. Is she sponsored by all three different companies?:D :D :D
