naistav thanks for reading all my post anyway i used to discus and debate with badmania/krisna on this kind of topic since 2008 i dont see any hard feeling there but for those who jump in i cant stop them from replying peace
YES! Mohd Ulinnuha/Berry Angriawan proved me wrong as they eventually overcame all odds and won the Indonesia IC 2010! Hopefully, this encouraging result will spur them to go one step higher and win GP or GP Gold level tourneys in the near future! The next tourney for them and the other Pratama pairs should be Sirnas Bali. Once again, they will be top-seeded and the victory today does not mean that they will have it easy next week! But this time, I want to see Agrippina Prima/Ricky Karanda Suwardi providing some credible challenge and win a domestic title! The other pairs like Ulin/Berry, Rizki/Albert, Andrei/Rahmat have won something this year; while the other 2 pairs in Pratama (Marcus/Christopher and Nugroho/Riky) are relatively new.
I can smell a good future sign from this MD batch Rizky/Albert, Berry/Ullin, Rahmad/Andrei, also Agrippina/Ricky. They look like in the same level, and in the almost same time, rise up their level step by step. I hope, 3-4 years, We all have a headache to determine the 1st MD for Thomas Cup ! But, for me, I also smell a very good sign from WD. Della/Suci looks very good. Jenna/Valla also. Very good regeneration Evert and Ari also played very good. Espescially Evert. He could win over Fauzi quite convincingly. very good improvement from evert as he always lost in early stage in SIrnas
Hopefully, but let's not get complacent as this is only an IC-level tourney. The real test will be when they go a level higher to compete in the GP & GP Gold tourneys, and eventually SS-level! These 4 pairs keep beating each other in the past few Sirnas, Singapore IS, and Indonesia IC. A good sign which reminds me of the golden era of Ricky/Rexy, Candra/Sigit, Tony/Halim, and Antonius/Denny; followed by Flandy/Eng Hian not so long after.
I met Rian/Angga while in Macau for the past 2 days. They are nice kids and more importantly very focussed on becoming a solid MD pair. Rendy/Afiat have already gone back to Jakarta because of some personal matters.
I hope internal competition between them improve continually. And I hope they would have good exposure to internal competition to benchmark their level and iteratively improve their internal rivalry. Btw, pairs from KOR, JPN and TPE are showing improvements really, technically INA young pairs are able to match, but not yet in term of experiences, tactical, mental, and other non-technical areas.
