Interesting question. I guess no INA players were invited to play in the CHN League. FINAL STANDINGS (Plays) Points Men's Teams 1 SGS PLN Bandung (6) 5 2 Jaya Raya Suryanaga Surabaya (6) 4 3 Tangkas Alfamart Jakarta (6) 4 4 Djarum Kudus (6) 4 5 Musica Champion Kudus (6) 3 6 Jaya Raya Jakarta (6) 1 7 Mutiara Bandung (6) 0 Women's Teams 1 Jaya Raya Suryanaga Surabaya (5) 5 2 Jaya Raya Jakarta (5) 4 3 Mutiara Bandung (5) 3 4 Djarum Kudus (5) 2 5 Tangkas Alfamart Jakarta (5) 1 6 SGS PLN BANDUNG (5) 0 What an extreme result for SGS! Their men's team is first but their women's team is just the opposite. It must have been a very exciting tournament for both players and fans.
I think Kido/Hendra was invited to play in china league. IF CBA allow their players to play in INA league, its very nice, esp their women players.
INDONESIA SUPERLIGA – Taufik, Chong Wei bring gold By Ira RatnatiFebruary 26, 2011 Bandung SGS PLN and its stars Taufik Hidayat and Lee Chong Wei claimed the gold medal in an epic final of the Superliga Indonesia beating PB Jaya Raya Suryanaga 3-2, thanks to their singles power. They came, they saw, they conquered. SGS PLN Bandung finally won the “battle of the best team” after a dramatic grand finale in Surabaya. SGS won all three singles matches but lost the doubles. The club, which is based in Bandung, got the first point after Lee Chong Wei beat Chan Yan Kit 22-20, 21-16. But lost their doubles, Hendri Saputra / Chayut Triyachart bowing to Alvent Yulianto / Tri Kusharjanto 13-21, 16-21. “Our doubles didn’t play at their best, and we were a little bit surprised by the loss of Hendri/Chayut against Luluk and Tri [Kusharjanto],” said SGS team manager Herman Subarzah. Taufik Hidayat was facing Fauzi Adnan in the second singles and as expected, the former Olympic champion delivered the point, but had to fight hard for his victory: Fauzi may not be an aggressive player – lacking a hard smash or amazing drop shots, but he is known as strong fighter who will never give up for any point. Taufik clinched the game 21-16, 23-21. Flandy Limpele and Hendra Aprida Gunawan were expected to win but had to admit the superiority of the young guns, Rian Agung and Tri Kusuma Wardhana. The famous duo lost 16-21, 21-17 and 18-21, meaning it would all depend on the last match. But Tommy Sugiarto was way above his opponent of the day, Alrie Gunadharma and took the title home 21-3, 21-12. “Actually we really hoped that Fauzi could steal one point. If he did, we had a good chance to win the battle, but yes, SGS were better than us this time,” admitted Suryanaga’s manager, Wijanarko. The winning team took home the trophy and a global cheque of Rp 350 million (US$40,000), the first runner-up prize money of Rp 200 million (US$22,000) while the bronze medal (and 125 Million Rp) went to PB Djarum, who beat PB Tangkas Alfamart 3-2 earlier in the day. In the AE, it is hoped that LCW will not go soft on his good friend, TH, should they meet in the final. He did that in the MO and almost paid the price when TH raced from 8-18 to 17-18. Obviously TH is still the player to watch in any SS tournament and he has yet to win the AE title.
Oh really. I confess that I did not follow the CHN League but through this forum I thought LCW was involved. Did Kido/Hendra and Taufik play too? If they were invited, then it is not too bad as an expression of CHN's friendly gesture and its respect for these INA players.
Bigger Super League Seen for Next Edition in 2013 Ami Afriatni | February 27, 2011 Recently crowned SGS PLN and Jaya Raya Suryanaga might be in for stiffer competition when they defend their respective titles in the next Djarum Indonesia Badminton Super League. Tournament officials said they were looking to expand the roster of teams for the men’s and women’s divisions when the next competition is held in 2013. Yoppy Rosimin, chairman of the organizing committee, said the prize money could also be increased from the current total purse of Rp 1.3 billion ($147,000). “Ideally, there should be eight teams in each division. The more teams that are competing in the league, the better,” Yoppy said. “We also think a bigger winner’s purse would encourage players to perform even better.” ------------------------------------------- Read completely -- http://www.thejakartaglobe.com/sports/bigger-super-league-seen-for-next-edition-in-2013/425505 See u in 2013
I note that the INA League somehow clashed with the CHN League (which seems to carry on into March after a short break) and this may have prevented invitations to top players from both countries to participate in each other's league.
How much does LCW get from this task in INA..........? Sorry for not read posts from beginning........! lazy mah ! lol
I am not sure whether he gets more bonus from winning. But just to play, he gets US$10000 according to the TV presenter(not sure if it is true) But, it is way below what he gets from playing in China Badminton league. Taufik also gets much higher playing there.
Prize money is not the most important thing . I gathered info that TH and LCW participated in the 2011 Indonesia Badminton Super League to support and to get the INA league going again (and also be interesting). Regarding prize money earned, TH and LCW (and many other players) do not consider it as the most important thing. .
Hi miksss, I just remembered that our Singapore Zoo had a baby komodo dragon in late 2009 as the following post shows: The Straits Times Dec 6, 2009 After trying for 34 years, the Singapore Zoo has succeeded in breeding the endangered species which hails from Indonesia By Shefali Rekhi IT WAS a marriage made in Singapore. He was a bit of a clumsy, hot-headed fellow but she, ever demure, won his heart. She even got him to do a Bollywood-style mating dance. Now, Bima and Yoko have an offspring - the Singapore Zoo's first newborn Komodo dragon. The Sunday Times visited the yet-unnamed baby, which - snug in its keeper's tender embrace - posed quietly for the cameras. 'It's as precious as the Mona Lisa for us,' said Mr Biswajit Guha, assistant director (zoology) at the zoo. He said that for the past 34 years, the zoo had been trying to breed the reptile, which is the world's largest living lizard species. Komodo dragons, found only in remote Indonesian islands, are descended from dinosaurs. This endangered species - with fewer than 3,000 in the wild - has a life span of 20 to 30 years.
