Anyone can beat anyone on their day honestly. Rats is playing such a fine game isn't she. I am really impressed, she won't be an easy opponent either. Tai, Chen, He they are all good. It will be a great finish for sure in terms of the quality of badminton no matter whoever plays whom.

@Cheung, I request you to allow at least a little bit of of other olympic sport discussion.
We really don't have any other place to discuss it.:(

We promise to keep most of it confined to badminton.;)

Regarding today's match against TTY, this is going to be a tough one - perhaps even tougher than the finals. And this is a very important match. Sindhu has to give her best and win this.

It is a rule in Tokyo, if you are OUT of the competition, you have to leave Japan within 48 hours (pandemic)

Man what a horrible day for India.
We lost at everything - badminton, boxing, archery, shooting - everything.

But badminton is what made me the saddest. I was expecting big and it was not to be.
Sindhu was just not herself today. This was not the Sindhu I am so used to seeing in bwf major events.
Where was that agression? Instead, I was seeing signs of nervousness in her face.
She was letting TTY play her normal game which she did not do in Rio.

Feeling so bad for Sindhu. I just hope she gets at least a bronze. (unlike Novak Djokovic)

TBH: Ranki/Shetty should be really proud of themselves, they managed to actually beat the Olympic champions who are in the form of their lives.

Satwik and Chirag- In this tournament we are the only ones who managed defeat the otherwise undefeated Olympic Champions.

Perhaps the defeat against the Indian pair was a wake up call and such was the awakening that it brought about an absolute turmoil in the entire MD category.
I am pretty certain that if they play again any time soon the result will be different.

I may be disliked for this comment but PVS was clearly not at her best, many should have already realized that against AY yesterday and it was great relief that she took the 2nd Set, else considering AY's stamina and retrieving ,3rd Set would have been an uphill task.

On the contrary ,RI was very close to her best that we have seen in a long time,if TTY could overcome that then the present PVS would not have been a difficult task.

Unfortunately, we cannot say she is performing at her full potential since her WC title. But a bronze would still be amazing!

In the bronze medal match she was close to her best.
But in the semis she definitely wasn't.

Compared to yesterday, today was much better.
    Sindhu won her bronze.
Third consecutive time we won an Olympic medal in badminton.

Also, in hockey we reached semis after 41 years.

Had Sindhu not won today, the streak of India medaling in bwf majors would have come to an end

2011 - WC bronze in doubles
    2012 - Olympic bronze
    2013 - WC bronze
    2014 - WC bronze
    2015 - WC silver
    2016 - Olympic silver
    2017 - WC silver + WC bronze
    2018 - WC silver
    2019 - WC gold + WC bronze
    2021 - Olympic bronze

I hope this trend of winning medals continue for many more years.
This time the colour was a downgrade, but its ok as long as we are medaling.

I am hoping that Chirag/Satwik will give us another doubles medal soon.

Dude replace India with Sindhu, she is doing way better than the eco-system that she had during her developing years.
