5 in top 16 by 2025 is difficult.

I said in the paris prediction thread as well that if someone is going to qualify in top 16 in the next 3-4 years, we have probably already heard their names.
While I haven't seen all of them play, I am not sure how many of those in the top 30 list you posted actually has the foundation game to reach top 16 in next 4 years.

I agree I have ambitious targets! Even if they make some progress towards these targets we will see improved Indian WS in the next couple of years. :)

Considering that Saina will most likely retire by 2025, which 4-5 players in WS (other than Sindhu) do you think are most likely to make it in top 16?

    Happy Independence Day!

It's really hard to talk about the top 16. First the top 100 and then top 50. Right now it's open for the players who take advantage of the given opportunities. Over the next 2-3 years we will get a better picture once regular tournaments are held. Samiya Farooqui, Tasnim Mir and others.

    Happy Independence Day!

I think that's almost impossible. Even for China to replicate that is almost impossible.

The upcoming Indian players will be in action at the Ukraine International Series.
    https://bwf.tournamentsoftware.com/sport/acceptancelist.aspx?id=a5ffa4ec-8cbc-4505-8677-6b3bb415d773
WS: Ashmita Chaliha, Malvika Bansod, Ira Sharma, Anupama Upadhaya, Trisha Hedge, Keyura Mopati
MS: Mithun Manjunath, Ansal Yadav, Sankar Muthusamy, Priyanshu Rajawat, Meiraba Luwang, Sai Charan Koya, Sai Vishnu Pullela, Rohan Gurbani
MD: Ishaan Bhatnagar/Sai Prateek, Nithin HV Bokka Navaneeth
WD: Gayatri Gopichand/Treesa Jolly (New pair)
XD: Ishaan Bhatnagar/Tanisha Crasto, Bokka Navaneeth/Ritika Thaker

Good to see Trisha and Keyura back in action after a long time. Gayatri has switched from singles to doubles. Appears like she has lost confidence in continuing singles. It will take her time to get to the required international standard in doubles. Priyanshu and Meiraba also get an opportunity though Meiraba has to get through qualifying rounds.

    Mexico International Challenge
    WS
    : Samiya Farooqui, Aakarshi Kashyap
    MS: Sankar Muthusamy

Hopefully all of them will get some much needed match practice with many tournaments getting cancelled.

Is there any South Paw other than Shankar Muthusamy in Singles? He is the youngest of the lot , if i am not wrong.
And also i am seeing Sathishkumar Karunakaran as well in the Ukrainian list of players.

Yes, Sankar is the youngest player. Kevin Arokia Walter is from Tamil Nadu plays MS.
Lakshmi Priyanka Subramanian (Sankar's sister) also from TN plays XD and WS. She and Sankar will eventually have to choose singles or doubles at the senior level.

Thomas cup should be a good tournament for Mens team.

My picks: KS, SV, LS, Sat/Chi, KPG/VP. If they prepare well they have a chance of winning a medal.

Who do you think should play in Thomas cup ?, name your pics, should be fun.

On paper they look good, but the mental aspect matters a lot in these events. So far only the girls have shown mental strength to get Uber medals in 2014 & 2016. I agree with your picks 4th MS is open for any in form player.

The Sudirman Cup is played before the Thomas/Uber Cup. Their performance at the Sudirman Cup will give an indication of form and mental strength.

BAI has made a change, Thomas/Uber/Sudirman Cup selection trials
to be held for everyone not in the top 20 of world rankings. Lakshya Sen, Ashwini Ponappa, Sikki Reddy have to attend the trials with this rule change. The list appears dated as it has players who have retired like Shlok Ramachandran, V Diju, Rupesh Kumar. Unless they are eligible to attend the trials. A lot of the junior players will attend just for valuable match practice with no domestic tournaments. The following players have been invited to the Gopichand Academy. I think this will piss PPBA off.

How many MS slots are there to fill?
I want LS, PR, SV if three more slots are there, if only 2 slots then LS, PR.
It will be interesting to see if LS can cross SV, HSP, PaKa.

Senior players who were not selected will voice out his/her opinion against the process.
    Hope it does not occur.
