No.1 seed Tasnim Mir beats Tara Shah 17-21, 21-11, 21-19 (GS U15) in 55 mins in final of Asia u15 championship
Tasnim Mir is 14 yo girl. She's originally from Mehsana, Gujarat. She is supported by OGQ and is training in Gopichand Academy. Below is one article one year late (Jan 2019). She likes screams of Carolina Marin and deceptions of TTY. She won Asia GD u15 gold last year with Meghana Mareddy. This year, she played WJC Riko Gunji in team event of World Juniors. https://www.pressreader.com/india/hindustan-times-delhi/20190114/282291026395051 And below one is article of Tara Shah. She's from Nikhil Kanetkar Badminton Academy (Pune). Article is of June 2019. https://www.hindustantimes.com/pune...s-tara-shah/story-7bUBrfK6niCCzgWuVPGnjK.html
Tasnim Mir is better than Samiya Imad Farooqi it seems, even defeated her recently 3 months back in u-19 tournament in pune. She is just 14 years old. Even Tara shah is also a great prospect. Hope they shine our indian name after Sindhu.
Don't know what happened to Samiya after her win in u17 gs two years ago. Presently, she's focussing on seniors. I'm surprised so many 16-17 year olds are directly wanting to focus on seniors and they're not playing u17, u19 tourneys anymore.
Even i am wondering. Why they dont wanna do good in u19. See what happened to vaishnavi reddy jakka. She has been continuously participating in senior tournaments and it didn't go well. Sent from my SM-G600FY using Tapatalk
No shortcuts unless you're An Se Young. Sindhu did well at seniors as well as juniors when she was 16-17. Lakshya played senior tournaments in 2016,17 but he didn't stop playing in juniors. Whereas now everyone is focussing on seniors when they have 3-4 years still left to leave the junior scene.
As a result of this strange fancy for seniors, we are sending weak teams at the junior level. This shows the importance of a good coach to guide and mentor the players in the choices they make. I am surprised Gopichand is doing the same with his own daughter Gayatri Gopichand. Saina Nehwal was an exception starting seniors early, but she started after winning WJC Gold.
Watching sub junior ranking tournament live. Umpire is ridiculously strict. Even when the player asks for doctor after he scratched his thighs due to diving, umpire said " No. What can i do for that". And also issued yellow card for throwing the racket in the air and then catching. I was like wth. They are all u15 and if umpire is so strict, i feel so sorry for those players. I read a Chinese article about Limpele addressing this (PVS v Kim) issue to “Indosport”. According to the article, Limpele didn’t deny any part of Kim’s story, and said “attitude is a real problem here in India, more like a cultural issue” (my loose translation). The article also mentioned Muleo (spelling?) leaving prematurely. In the end, Limpele was quoted saying “like Muleo and Kim”, he may not have a long stint coaching in India.
Can you put any references here? Couldn't find any thing here: https://www.indosport.com/tag/6178/flandy-limpele
Found it: https://www.indosport.com/raket/201...indonesia-beberkan-soal-attitude-pemain-india Easy translation using google translate. Looks like he'll leave too once he find another place.
I think we have to be a bit careful here. What Flandy says about his players can't be generally applied to PVS and Kim. To doubles players yes but between PVS and Kim, why not? PVS became world champion with an epic display of badminton. You simply can't do that with an attitude issue in training.
Responding to Kim-PVS issue coach flandy said "Attitude is indeed a problem here too, but it might be a habit, right?" to INDOSPORT. The article also highlights the following 'And it was proven that after the departure of coach Mulyo Handoyo, there was no longer a single Indian male who was able to achieve and seem dim'. Coach flandy also said "It could be that I will also experience things like coach Kim and Mulyo, the signs are already there. It's a tradition, so no one wants up to 4-5 years," he concluded.
