I really feel sorry of his loss yesterday. match points 20-17 still couldn't close it and and the opportunity was there when he totally miscontrol the smash outside the court. Mental block

LOL, that Thailand player is not an unknown player. Kantaphon Wangcharoen was a bronze medalist at 2016 WJC and formerly No.1 at World Junior Ranking as well.

Kantaphon Wangcharoen lost to Sun Fexiang the gold medalist and Lee Zii Jia lost to Chico Aura Dwi Wardoyo the silver medalist.

Kantaphon also the runner-up of 2017 Thailand Masters, he lost to Tommy Sugiarto at last year's final.

Ihsan Maulana Mustofa should wake up from his comfort zone to achieve a higher and better result. He is the oldest players in national team. The challenges would come from the younger players as Kantaphon is 3 years younger than him.

Cmiiw but lately he took time to recover from some injuries, plus he, compared to the other two prominent INA MS, takes the mean comments to heart more (yes they do read comments on their social media) and it really doesn't do good to his mental wellbeing I suppose :(
 
I like his playing style (Taufik Hidayat style). But he can't win the game with this style. This type of playing style required top fitness level and he doesn't have it. Same goes for Ginting. Most of Indonesia single player don't have good fitness level compare to Japan, China, Denmark & Korea

I don't think the time given for his improvement is more than enough. 1 year ahead should be his last chance, or PBSI is good enough to give him 2 years until Olympic 2020 over.

Yesterday he's just lost against his 3 years younger player, Chico Aura Dwi Wardoyo by straight games at the 2018 National Championships (mixed team events). He represented Djarum Kudus badminton club. [match result here].
 
Not sure what this guy doing everyday this year. Sick here sick there, even sugiarto takes care of himself better than him.

If he is serious, he will at least be in top 15.
