What is the verdict if: There is a gentle tumble shot near the net sidelines and the shuttle just happens to land 'upsidedown' on its feathers/skirt (and stays in that position) with the skirt astride the line? [PS. the cork sitting up in the air might be either within the line or outside the line, viewed vertically].
First, I seriously doubt this is realistic. I have never seen such a shot – can you make an example video? But if it would happen, the answer is still that the first point of contact – wherever that is – counts. In this case, it would likely be one of the feathers. If the line judge / umpire can't decide, they would probably just signal unseen, which would result in a let.
