Not sure what last year's issue is about. Yup, Lin Dan should not withdraw from the MO. I am not a fan of Lin Dan and so don't care what he does. I did not even notice the thread of Lin Dan withdrawing because I ignore such threads. But, look at Lin Dan now. He has lost in the early rounds of 2 tournaments in the row. Supposedly because of too much partying. Players should not withdraw from tournaments at the last minute for lame excuses. When players get special favors and are treated differently, it is usually the end of their reign at the top.

I am a fan of Lee Chong Wei and so I am annoyed at Lee. I give people I support less leeway than people I am indifferent too. Because if Lee keeps this up, he can go the way of YoYo, Lin Dan, or Taufik. He cannot let winning All England get into his head or he will become another has been very quickly. After Mats Wilander won 3 grand slams and became number 1 in tennis, he lost his hunger and dropped out of tennis soon after. Same can be said of Taufik.

Last year..LD withdrew a lot..especially on Hong kong Open...
LD, FHF/CY, Zhang Ning were in Hongkong to do some promotion 4 or 5 days before Hongkong Open...then a day before main draw started, LD withdrew and Sony was happy as he thought he got free pass to 2nd round..
Organizer called CHN manager and explained how come LD and FHF withdrew...they had baout 30 minutes meeting..I was there to collect ID card and HKG organizer said that LD withdrew because he was not ready...:D
They replaced LD with Tanongsak and INA team protested that they had been told Sony was thru 2nd round...guess what? Sony lost to tanongsak in 1st round...
    Who created more mess here??:p

As already repeated a few times, LCW went thru all this attending functions thingy after OG 2008. The OG 2008 one was more messy, with political overtones. It (& the loss to LD in OG Finals) set him back 3 to 4 months but after that he came back strong.

By now LCW & Misbun knows how pattern goes. No need to get anxious until have to post in 2 threads, the other players have been withdrawing many more times ;)

    LOL

Tine Rasmussen is women's singles player
Jonas Rasmussen is men doubles player

Both of them won the 100th edition of the AE

Tine Rasmussen withdrew, while Jonas decided not to drop out.

    Clear? :)

If you include SEA Games, 3X. 1 time give walkover in R1, LCW actually went to the tourney, then felt pain, didnt play,I think it was the same leg injury problem.
Then France 2009(did not register Denmark, so no need withdraw) & Sea Games 2009 due to the left knee injury. The leg that now still having a lot of tapes, haha
