In a week, I play only 4 days and I get pleasure during my playing. I enjoy badminton playing so much that makes me healthy and gives me fresh mind.

Just play at saturday, in the morning and night.

In the morning, usually 3 matches, where one match is 30 points with the old 15 scoring system.

at night, usually 3-4 matches, 2 sets each with the 21 scoring system.

As for me, I play around 4 to 6 days/week and each session is 2 hours, therefore playing time is equivalent to 8 to 12 hours/week.

I started to take up badminton in Aug 2014, since my school and uni days I only involved in athletic, football, handball, tennis & table tennis and I never ever touch a badminton racket.

With more playing times, I can see my improvement in badminton techniques, tactical, power and accuracy.

Overall I play between 8 to 9 hours a week, depending on what the President of my club has got booked for us (I belong to a University club in America, though I am English, so it's harder to find the space for us than back home in Blighty!). Are there any other University badminton club members on here to compare weekly playing hours with?

Sure! I'm actually managing the Badminton club at my university. We've got 5 hours of training per week (although 2 of that is a course that's only relevant for absolute beginners), and 10 hours where you can play. In recent times, I've scaled back though and switched more and more to proper Badminton clubs, since the training and level of play is way better there. I still come on Friday, when we have 3 hours training + 3 hours of play, and advanced players participate. In all of the other courses, you rarely find any feather players at all.

Conversely, the team that represents our university at the national championships consists almost entirely of players who train and play in external clubs.

I'm really surprised to see how much you guys play each week. But for me, it's only 2.5 hours per week with my friends.

I did a lot of research on badminton and I would consider myself as an enthusiast but I don't really play that long like you guys haha. Cheers.

I feel really bad after reading how much you all play. I only play once every 2 to 3 weeks, for about 2 hours. Love to play more, but finding someone to play with is difficult for me.

I play about 5 days a week with a full time job. I play every Tuesday and Thursday after work (and any other weekday I can try to get out and play) plus Saturday and Sunday. Usually will play about 3 to 4 Matches. Are there not many clubs around?

Only because you are recovering from surgeries and injuries! Don't worry or feel bad about it! Take the recovery slow, so you won;t have more surgeries and can come out the other end stronger.

As for me, 6 days a week. One day I have an hour + training. Once a week I go to a high-level girls group, once a week I go to a mens group and the other 3 days I play with my regular club (at my coaches place) where we train and play. I usually play 3 hours a night.
