    Its out...

    MS:
Taufik Hidayat vs Chen Hong -- once again, a tough opener for Taufik, with either Ng Wei or Park Sung Hwan awaiting in R16. Lin Dan will be his QF opponent if he does clear the first two rounds.

Sony Dwi Kuncoro vs Boonsak Ponsana -- also tough for Sony, with Yeoh Kay Bin possibly awaiting in R16, and Chen Jin in the QF

Mohd Hafiz Hashim vs Simon Santoso -- a tricky match for Simon as Yo-yo is unpredictable. At his current form, Simon should win and face either Chen Yu or Kenneth Jonassen in R16. Bao Chunlai will await in the QF.

    MD:
Tony Gunawan/Candra Wijaya vs Chien Yu-Hsun/Lin Yu Lang -- the sixth seeded Tony/Candra should clear the first two rounds and they are expected to entertain the top-seed Koo Kien Keat/Tan Boon Heong in the QF. I will be there to watch it live!

Tsai Chia-Hsin/Hu Chung-Hsien vs Luluk Hadiyanto/Alvent Yulianto -- a reasonable draw for Luluk/Alvent and they are expected to face Jens Eriksen/Martin Lundgaard Hansen for the second week in a row, this time in R16. The World Championship silver-medallist, Jung Jae Sung/Lee Yong Dae should be waiting in the QF

Hui Wai Ho/Alroy Tanama Putra vs Markis Kido/Hendra Setiawan -- a smooth draw for Kido/Hendra to the SF, with either Chew Choon Eng/Hong Chieng Hun or Mathias Boe/Carsten Mogensen awaiting in R16 and possibly Lee Jae Jin/Hwang Ji Man in the QF. They again avoid Koo Kien Keat/Tan Boon Heong in their draw, which means another possible meeting with Fu Haifeng/Cai Yun.

Hendra A. Gunawan/Joko Riyadi vs Guo Zhendong/Xie Zhongbo -- sigh...AG/Joko yet again draws the toughest opponent in R32. Tough luck for them  The winner will face Fu Haifeng/Cai Yun in R16.

    WD:
Vita Marissa/Lilyana Natsir are not competing in the Hong Kong Open.

Fiona McKee/Charmaine Reid vs Rani Mundiasti/Endang Nursugianti -- Rani/Endang should progress to R16 where they will face the third-seed Lee Kyung Won/Lee Hyo Jung.

Wong Man Ching/Lam Sin Ying vs Jo Novita/Greysia Polii -- good first round draw, but, Jo/Greysia once again face a Chinese pair, the top-seed Wei Yili/Zhang Yawen in R16.

    XDQ:
Hendra A. Gunawan/Endang Nursugianti vs Hwang Ji Man/Lee Kyung Won -- that's it, AG/Endang will not qualify.

    XD:
Flandy Limpele/Vita Marissa vs Tadashi Ohtsuka/Satoko Suetsuna -- again, Flandy/Vita (if they do turn up) are drawn in the same half as Nova/Butet. Pretty smooth draw to QF where they will possibly meet Nathan Robertson/Gail Emms (a tough match).

Hsieh Yu-Hsin/Chien Yu-Chin vs Nova Widianto/Lilyana Natsir -- Nova/Butet will possibly clear the first two rounds and meet their nemesis Thomas Laybourn/Kamilla Rytter-Juhl in the QF. The Danish pair has beaten Nova/Butet twice in a row now!

tough opener for both Taufik and Sony, one of them will probably lose in R1. But Simon should proceed to the QF at his current form.

Choong Hann and Hashim brothers face tough hurdles
    By LIM TEIK HUAT
PETALING JAYA: With the exception of top singles player Lee Chong Wei and the world number one pair of Koo Kien Keat-Tan Boon Heong, there could be opening round heartbreaks for the Malaysian shuttlers in the Hong Kong Open from Nov 26-Dec 2.
In the draw released yesterday for the final Super Series event of the year, Wong Choong Hann and the Hashim brothers, Hafiz and Roslin, face uphill tasks in the first round.
Choong Hann, the national number two, will face top Dane Peter-Gade Christensen while Hafiz is up against hard-smashing Indonesian Simon Santoso.
Roslin, who ended a six-year international drought by winning the Vietnam Open, has an equally tricky first-round match against India’s Anup Sridhar, who beat Olympic champion Taufik Hidayat in the second round of the World Championships in July.
Yeoh Kay Bin opens against a qualifier and the winner will play against either Thailand’s Boonsak Ponsana or Indonesia’s Sony Dwi Kuncoro.
Only French Open champion Chong Wei has the easiest passage to the quarter-finals. Chong Wei, who should have recovere fully from a knee injury by then, has a first-round bye and will play against KLRC Bhd’s Lee Tsuen Seng next.
Dane Kenneth Jonassen and third seed Bao Chunlai are in Chong Wei’s half of the draw but the Malaysian number one should live up to his billing as the second seed if recent records are anything to go by.
Chong Wei beat Jonassen in the first round of the French Open earlier this month and defeated Chunlai in straight games in the final.
Kien Keat-Boon Heong should face their first real test in the quarter-finals against the veteran Indonesian-American combination of Candra Wijaya-Tony Gunawan. In the same half of the draw are South Koreans Lee Yong-dae-Jung Jae-sung and Danes Jens Eriksen-Martin Lundgaard Hansen.
The other pairs, Choong Tan Fook-Lee Wan Wah and Mohd Zakry Latif-Mohd Fairuzizuan Mohd Tazari, have first-round matches against former world champions Lars Paaske-Jonas Rasmussen of Denmark and second seeds Fu Haifeng-Cai Yun of China respectively.
Tan Bin Shen-Ong Soon Hock will not have it easy in the first round either. They will play against the young Danish pair of Simon Mollyhus-Anders Kristiansen.
