To me, what stands out in your collection are the great many pictures of people removed from the main action. You have captured a number of telling moments... and these usually go unnoticed by generic photographers. :)

    A few of my favourites:

A weary, broken Hafiz retreating (post#355)...
Misbun's expression, if not body language, says it all.

Xie Xingfang's anxiety as her knight duels on court (post#337)...
Contrast her expression with that of Zhang Ning, just a racquet-length away.

    Saralee's mysterious inner torment (post#330)...
Look at the others seated in the same row.

Kenneth Jonassen and his coach (post#211 & post#231)...
    What's going through their minds?

Again, thanks a ton for making these pictures available :)

i enjoyed it too. i like the raw emotion of the hafiz and misbun pic too. the blatant show of disappointment on misbun face. and i like the 2 minute interval pic.

    a few observation :

    1. it seems that a lot of players are getting taped up lately. i think a majority of them have some sort of taping done to their legs and some have supports for their knees and ankles. does this mean that today's game are more vigorous than the olden days that it takes a toll on the physical of players. if so, these players will surely have bad aches when they reach old age. maybe the schedule is too taxing.

    2. TBH does not look as skinny as i remember him before. did he build up some muscle or something?

Ah, and noticed our Hau-ge in one of the pic (post #337)...he's everywhere in the HK Open tourney..:);)
:p..Candra looks very animated in that one pic, with his left knee in a semi-raised position...*sigh* aih, must be signs of growing old..:p:D;)
    ..i like Misbun's stare....good capture:cool:

Chan & Chan in their heydays in the late 80s were one of the top MX players in the world, their ranking went as high as number 2 in the world!

Yup, both pic, the earlier one with a weary Hafiz shaking hands with Misbun and the one with Misbun's stare, good candid photos.

And captions too, Oldhand is better at it, his English is better.

The pic of weary Hafiz & Misbun staring :
"A chance given, A chance taken, a chance blown, a disappointment given."

OR "Patiently have I waited, wearily have I borne the pressure, wearily I still await."

Of players sprawled out to return shuttle :
New wushu event in SEA Games

Of Kido/Setiawan in action (this one's always fun) :
Mighty pillar said to mighty mouse 'I take this mighty mouse, no darts from the enemy goes pass this pillar'

    Grrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrreat Work

Thanks kwun for the link... indeed, it's a very vibrant collection :)

She has some fabulous shots of Lin Dan - and it's not all about power...
...some of the pictures are sure to set the female hearts here aflutter ;)

And, of course, there's a lot more.
A few scene stealers (or scene spoilers :p):

Try not to see the shuttle... Kido's just taken a bullet in the chest :D

A game balanced on the edge of the net -- will it, won't it?

    The strangest of them all:
    http://www.fotop.net/anitachan/anitachan24/s_9017
"Please, please, I need this point." :D

Probably the best in the collection:

Raw power... frozen just before the explosion :)

    My favourite:
    http://www.fotop.net/anitachan/anitachan24/s_9913
Cai Yun & Fu Haifeng demonstrate the absence of gravity

    AChan, if I had a thumbs-up emoticon, I'd insert a few here :)

Do Kido and Setiawan know about this 'pillar and mouse' thing?
If not, you could ask Hau-Ge to pass it on. :D

Pillar sounds better than Junkies, Setiawan's current nickname :p

Sounds better than 'skinny sticky', he he. That was originally for TBH but TBH gained some flesh lately. I thought of another nickname for TBH.

Actually I wanted to name Setiawan 'pole' , he doesnt have enuf muscles to be called 'pillar' - but his fans might get angry, so.... he's pillar.
Besides, 'junkies', 'skinny sticky' or 'pole' arent official printable names for a World Champ.

Saralee was doing stretching to lower back muscle after the match. She looked very disappointed.

Polii is lovely. I gave some of her photos taken during last 2 years of HKO. She was very nice and cheerful.
