I build this shutllecock launching machine just for fun.
It is not my intention to compete with the professional, or there machines.
Just wanted to see how much features i could put in this machine.

    The machine features:
    - Remote controle to position shutllecock
    - 1 till 12 shots with delay en timer.
    - Calibrating page for pre setting 7 different positions and speeds.
    - Programable random auto run for 6 or 12 shuttlecocks.
    - and much more.

For those who like more of my machines check this:

Building that beauty must have taken more than a couple weekends in the garage. Brilliant! :)

How consistent is the delivery? (i.e. Do two shots aimed the same way land in the same place?)
How many times can a bird survive those wheels of death?
Can the speed be slowed so as to imitate net shots or soft drops?

That's fantastic work! You are the Edison of badminton machines.

    @Jeroen1278

I will make the first request for you build me a robot racquet that can hit a shuttle on the line, do spinning netshots that are impoosible for an opponent to get and then boosts my smash to 500km/h.

Add to that an exoskeleton that gives me perfect footwork with six foot jumps. :)

It took me a year to design and build it

    (1) I tested the consistency with used birds and it grouped roughly in a area of about 0,5m2 over a distance of 12 meters.

    (2) I did not do a endurance test, but i did not see any feathers flying around.:)

    (3) Yes, the speed can be adjusted manual or automatic.

I am gone try to explain how it works.
When i setup the machine on the court, i run a calibration sequence for say 7 points (Left rear, Right rear, ect.).
When this is done i got all the coordinates and speeds i need to run a automated run.
But these coordinates and speeds can also be used in the manual function.
The calibration only has to been done when you change to a other type of bird.

If you listen close ( in the video 3:30 till 3:50 ) you will hear the "spindle" speed speeding up and down.

"It is not my intention to compete with the professional, or there machines.", this stuff is really impressed, I'm surprised you're not planning on doing build-to-order fabs for your machines.

It's more beautiful than the panda machine I've seen. I'm really impressed with it. Keep up the good work. If you could make it more mobile, e.g. Use battery rather than electricity, lighter, and easy to setup then I think you can sell it :)

Only just seen this. You are a man with skills. Very impressive.

Just wondering how fast does the shuttle travel? Can it be used in a downwards direction to replicate a smash?

I do not have a lasergun to measure the speed. Yes it can produce smashes, but the machine has to be in the highest position on my tripod. This is in the range of 2,50 to 3 meter.

No, not really. Just corrected some software bugs. But the hardware is still the same. I went on to a new project.
