Tan Fook-Wan Wah began their campaign with a 15-8, 15-2 win over Frederic Mawet-Wouter Claes of Belgium earlier.

Mixed doubles pair Mohd Fairuzizuan Mohd Tazari-Ooi Sock Ai are also through to the quarter-finals after beating Japan’s Shinichi Nakao-Tomomi Matsuda 15-6, 15-7. The Malaysians will face English top seeds Anthony Clark-Donna Kellogg today.
