Here are the seedings & groups..

...for the ease of viewing, courtesy of internationalbadminton.org..thanks again for the link, hcyong:cool:
From the colored rows, i would assume the yellow would indicate teams that have been promoted. And pink would indicate teams that have been demoted.;)

    Champs
    China looks unstoppable.

    Semifinalists
Tough fight among Den, Mas, Kor and Ina for the other 3 semifinal spots. Thailand dark-horse

    Relegation
For me, Hkg will be relegated, because their doubles cannot match Eng and Tha. Their only hope is to try to pip England.

    Group B
Straight fight between Sin and Jpn.
    Sato v Susilo: tough fight
Hirose v Li or Xing: Jpn to win
    MD: Jpn to win
    WD: Ogura/Shiota v Jiang/Li: tough fight
    XD: Sin to win
3-2 either way, but I think Jpn has a slightly better chance.

Malaysia should be able to make into semi final at least and possibly to the final!

The luck of draw favours Malaysia. I am not belittling England and Thailand, but it is better than being in Group B.

Agree, MAS has bigger chance compare than ENG or THA to go into SF scene as runner-up Group 1A but never underestimate THA with their shuttlers improvement recently such as Boonsak-Sudket/Saralee. CHN is absolutely will take position as Group 1A Winner.

Meanwhile, it's obviously disadvantage for INA team who must struggling against another strong candidates DEN and dark-horse KOR. On paper these 3 countries have equal opportunities to book 2 places in last four.

Interesting, why not Robertson/Emms for Eng?

    Got this from BE's site:
"England head coach Ian Wright said: "It's a tough draw. Not what we had hoped for.""

A tough draw? As opposed to what??

Either Robertson/Emms or Clark/Kellogg would be clear favourites against any Malaysian pair.

Tough draw? It's like being in the Premier League and complaining about the tough opponents.

Looking at Group B, it's pretty dicey for Singapore against Taiwan. Cheng and WD look good for Taiwan. Taiwan needs to hunt for one more point from either MD or XD. Singapore still favourites to win 3-2. Taiwan may also struggle against Xu-powered Germany.

Not easy for Japan as well, facing the likes of Poland and Netherlands. With a strong ladies section, Japan should still pull through.

HK has a pretty good chance against England. Njoto/Wiranata vs Blair/Clark should be about 50/50. Both MS and WS heavily favours HK while WD and XD heavily favours England.

HK's chances against Thailand isn't that bad either. WS and MD favours HK. Ng Wei vs. Boonsak is about 40/60. If Ng Wei can pull off the upset, HK can remain in Group 1 for another 2 years.

    INA vs KOR

MS: Taufik Hidayat v Park Sung Hwan (Taufik I think)
WS: Maria Kristin v ??? (surely Korea)
MD: Markis Kido-Hendra Setiawan v Jung-Lee (Jung and Lee lost to Joko-Hendra) so I think INA have a slight advantage
XD: Nova-Lili vs Jung-Lee Hyo Jung
(Tough one but Ina has slight chance)
WD: Vita Marissa-Greysia Polli v Lee Hyo Jung-Hwang Yu mi (50-50)

    3-2 Indonesia

    INA vs DEN

MS: Taufik Hidayat vs Peter Gade (well on his best Taufik can beat the guy)
WS: ????? vs Maria Kristin (Denmark surely)
MD: Kido-Setiawan vs Eriksen-Lungard (both a bit dodgy but INA has better chance)
XD: Nova-Lily vs Thomas Laybourn-Kamila Rhtyr Juhl (Nova-Lily to win)
    WD: Vita Marissa-Greys v ??? (dunno 50-50)

on the good day 3-2 INA

    INA vs HK

MS: Taufik Hidayat/Sony Dwi Kuncoro/Simon Santoso vs Chan Yan Kit (INA to win)
WS: Maria Kristin vs Wang Chen (HK surely)
MD: Kido-Setiawan vs whoever here (INA to win)
    XD: Nova-Lily vs whoever (INA)
WD: I think INA has better chance

    4-1 INA to win........

If 2 of them is correct then semis we can go through....I hope all of them is correct....

Looks like Indonesia enter the wrong group. It will be better if they were in Group A with China.

In Group B, they had to be Group B winner in order not to meet China in SF. And they had very tough matches against Denmark if Taufik lost and very very tough matches against Korea if LHI in top form.

i don't think LHI will be playing.

i think group B wil be loads of fun, KOR, INA and DEN all have good chance and i think it's too close to call.

we're looking at a good fight for second place again!
