    Hi Guys,

I have a question. People always use electric tape on the wooden handle to protect the wood from sweat. The new Free core tech from victor does not use wood, therefore my question is:

Is is harmfull to NOT use electric tape when using this new handle?

From my point of view it's fine. I've never covered my wood handles with electric tape either and it hasn't disintegrated thus far :D

It's a hollow kind of plastic right? Those new freecore handles.

If anything we're at more danger from holding the racquet

No, you do not need to put a layer of electric tape over the free core handle because your sweat will not corrode the plastic.

But at the same time, if you grip a thin overgrip over the free core it'll hurt your fingers when changing grips while playing because of how sharp and hard the edges are on the handle. For me i start with two layers of cushion wrap before wrapping it with the overgrip.
