It's wonderful all around string that’s isn’t really too good at anything. It’s just quite good at everything instead.

I’d say don’t go above 28 on it. Seems to peak around or below there.

Great string overall, but due to easy fraying on the crosses after only few hours play, it's lifespan can be significantly improved with hybridization with ZM62 Fire on the crosses.

Why the fraying on the crosses? Is this the common case with this string or it happens only in some cases?

Yeah, it's common for the crosses to be cut by the mains.

Oh. I hope I wouldn't be spending much having to change string with this one just in case I get to like this.

I actually didn't have much issues with only GT5 with regards to fraying .. I play 2 hours daily and cut the strong after 2 weeks. Used the yellow one.

You mean the mains get cut by the crosses. Other thing don't make sense. On hybrids you go always on the mains with a thicker and more durable string. If you go square tension it could be that crosses get notched by the mains, but normally the mains go, instead of crosses. Just on square tension it is even, but normally the mains break.

Dunno if this has been mentioned or discussed but my reel arrived today with tension recommendations of 20-30 lbs, but online has it at 18-27

I didn't look at my reel until now, but it also says 30 lbs, the package says 18-27 though.

But Gosen seems to change the recommendations from time to time, see those two packages of R4X Momone:

It does play very well at 28 lbs and that was the package saying 16-20 lbs. It's just recommendations after all.

Gonna be back to this again. Will leave feedback from the 9900 since it has better feel.

Can i have a quick recap please? Whats the verdict on GT9 for fans of GT5 wanting a thicker string?

Well, @swsh might concur, but in my opinion that's pretty much it. It's very similar in many aspects, but plays like a thicker string than GT5. I really don't know what else to say about it from my experience than "it's a thicker GT5," and I didn't get any negative feedback from other people who tried it (mostly looking for a more durable GT5).
