Hey Guys, Any recommendations for a good pair of badminton shoes which is good for knee injuries? Price not an issue, I play both singles and doubles...old injury caused me to stop but I have since started playing again. Currently I am using an Aerus 2 but I find post matches, I do feel my knees taking quite a strain. Alternatively, I now restrict my own movement on the court and do not push to the max as and where I can, I also refrain from playing more than 2 sets in a row to keep my right knee injury in control. P/S : Injury due to an old sparring session for a martial arts discipline I once took up, right knee.
Oh no...I am new to this forum, I am sorry if my post is within the wrong sub-category, I think I may have posted this under rackets...my sincerest apologies once again.
Yonex Comfort Z is popular amongst older and retired pro players due to its extra cushioning properties. I myself have previous knee injuries and find them essential... not that I'm a retired pro player... heh Sent from my SM-G988W using Tapatalk
What he said plus: - Good insoles: Yonex original insoles are relatively thin and maybe ok for about a month. Spenco Total Support (Max) is very popular and recommended by many ppl here. I personally use it solely in my badminton shoes. - Soft surfaces: try to play on mat or synthetic courts. Avoid concrete.
Thanks guys! Will definitely check out the Comfort Z, was wondering if the 65z2 is suitable as well? At least there are a few options for me to try out when I hit the stores.
I returned 2 pair of Comfort Z2 within a few months. The eyelets broke really fast twice. 3rd time I went for something else. Now I'm using Asics Gel beyond 6, and they are really great when it comes to shock absorption.
That's weird because they have inner bootie which already makes the shoes fit. Mine are still in good condition.

I really have no idea. Given the shoes are genuine, that it happened twice is weird. The inner bootie already prevents you foot to slip forward. Do you consider you have high arches?
That is the only reason I can think of. Perhaps you might want to change the way you put the lace. Just search for it. It will make your feet more comfortable.
Well the shop I boght them in was very nice and let me chose something else 2nd time it failed so I went for Yonex Eclipsion Z instead. I really like them, but they are a bit hard so after I got an injury I only use them for double and got a pair of asics for single.
Wowza, thanks a bunch guys! Seeing so many constructive inputs within this forum gives me hope for the human race . Definitely will try checking out the Comfort Z2s as well. But, in all due honesty, I am truly appreciative of the positive feedback and willingness to share insights by members of this forum, kudos to all man! Asics is also one of the brands I am considering and I must say...they do have a large variety...Gel Blade Gel this and that...God...I have no clue where to start. I know the 65Z2 has a pretty good sole and I read its good for stability and support, so I am not sure if this is also another option to consider. Rest assured, every model and brand suggested here I will take a look at, at the end, I understand it is also a matter of personal preference but insights do go a long way in narrowing down on the right ones.
I think you wold love the Comfort z2. I did until my broke. I have friends with the same shoe and they don't have the problem. My feets are the opposit to wide, so to not destroy my toes I need to tighten them really hard, and that is probably the reaso why the eylets broke over and over again. (I have never had that problem on any other yonex shoes thoguh). I can just say that both my feets and my knees really loved that shoe.
