No, I am not a very strong advocate of glucoseamine in capsule or tablet or any form that is taken orally. However, if you get an orth. surgeon to give you the stuff in the form of injections, then yes it can do wonders. I had at one time tried the capsule form but the effect is marginal and temporary. However, if you feel less stiffness in your knees from taking glucoseamine orally, then I guess it works for you. A cheaper and safer way is to use papain enzyme, disolved in your mouth, to get rid of knee stiffness. I think it is better than glucoseamine.
What about papain enzyme in conjunction with glucosamine? Also, where online to buy PE? And why is it "safer"? Thanks.
Did a search on google. papain enzyme is an extract from papaya. Like bromelain, papain enzyme reduces swelling.
KICK! Is this the right stuff or not? http://www.puritan.com/pages/file.asp?xs=27227B07FED049AF89D6C1D7710247C7&PID=754&CPID=1307&np=1 Thanks for helping and not heckling.
yes , think so. it's so cheap. Too bad i eat so full such that i can't fit in a papain tablet afterward
hey everyone i've also have some injuries on my knee, and i'm wondering what i should with it. everyone told me it'll get better soon but i don't think it is. Everytime when my knee feels alright...i go and play badminton and during the game, it doesn't hurt at all. however within one day after the game it begins to hurt. What got me really worried is that there is actually no bruise nothing on my knee, it's the inside that hurts. by the way wat is that sulfate thingy anyway...i've never heard of it.
Papain (from papaya plant) and bromelain (from pineapple plant) are natural anti-inflammatory enzymes. They are nature's NSAIDS without side effects. Doctors prescribe them very often but often with brand names that give you no clue as to what they are. In HK there is a way to check the different brand names that doctors prescribe papain, as all drugs and health supplements with different brand names must be registered with all their ingredients. Another thing that even doctors in HK do not seem to know is that taking papain enzymes orally is the least effective way.
ANTS , are you sure you're not just protecting the black ANTS from taneepaks culinary threat?? ... LoL!!!
I've switched over to the Liquid G.S. product by Jamieson. Not bad taste (kinda like Vicks cherry cough syrup) and a tbl spoon = 1500 mg. Been using G.S. for a number of years now and I feel it helps.
I am taking the Jamieson brand in liquid form too. It is Glucosamine Hydrochoride (G HCL). I take two teaspoons a day with six Glucosamine Sulphate tablets (500 mg each) :crying: :crying: :crying: .
Uhhhh, why are you crying Pete? You should be happy you have the stuff. I still need to buy it. P.S. Thanks for the name of the product.
