Yeap, usually it's natural selection and many will drop out but some will prevail. My junior back in university used to be the arch rival of Simon Santoso back in his junior days. He opted a different life because he wasn't too confident that he could live from playing badminton.
They have won 3 major titles in 2016 and to my surprise no.3 is definetly a lucky number to both of them. Week 3 - Malaysia GPG Week 13 - India SS Week 23- Australia SS They did not participate in week 33 Rio Olympic, but can both of them win French SS in week 43? Let's wait and see.
In terms of results, as they won two SS and 1 GP, they're the best pair for Indonesia, where as the Ahsan and Co, have not won any this year. I think Kevin is a dynamic player and the one to watch, it's no fluke that they won 2 SS already this year.
Congratulation to Gideon & Kevin, you are in BWF Top 10 as week 24-2016. Another BIG Congratulations coz you are ranked no.1 in BWF Destination Dubai Rankings.
Next Targets for Gideon & Kevin: 1. To win a Superseries Premier 2. To qualify for Destination Dubai World Superseries Finals 2016 3. BWF World Rank Top 5 by early of next year All the best Gideon & Kevin!!!
Kevin Sanjaya Sukamuljo/Markus Fernaldi Gideon have fulfilled expectations in the first half of the 2016 by winning 3 titles: 2 Super Series titles - India and Australia Opens 1 GPG title - Malaysia Open I agree that the next target for them should be a SSP title, hopefully a major one like the All-England or the BWF SS Finals. They will likely qualify for the BWF SS Finals 2016 & most likely for the World Championships 2017, barring a collapse for the next 6 months or so during the qualification period and I think a top-5 placing in the World Ranking is definitely doable.
He must have been injured while he was in the sparring team for Rio preparation. Very serious sparring practice given by the juniors.
According to the Indonesia language translation from his own Twitter, he mentioned is thigh injury, but he hashtag #kneeinjury.
You mean his instagram? I think he has deleted that post, but you can still find the pic on his gf's ig. She captioned it as a ligament injury. Slightly worried though, hope he's in good form before Japan SS!
Bad News from PBSI camp, Gideon Markus Fernaldi will be out of action for more than a month, and it's confirmed that he will miss Indonesia Masters (early Sep'16). As for Kevin Sanjaya Sulkamuljo, PBSI will temporary pair him with Wahyu Nayaka Arya Pankaryanira for Indonesia Masters. Pray for speedy recovery for Gideon MF.
