Really? I don't think so. Every time they lost it must be Gideon who got most of the blames. We know Sukamuljo is the better player in this partnership and Gideon job is to offer stability, and support to which he failed to do so lately.

But we agree that Sukamuljo must find a better partner now, difficult task for PBSI. Sukamuljo often showed his annoyance if Gideon made a mistake, and it's not a good sign given Gideon is almost 5 years his senior in National team. If he paired with younger, less experience player who knows what he do. Probable he will throw his tantrum or scolding his partner openly during the match. Who want to be in that position?

Kevin thinks Gidoen is a weak link. He didnt even try at all. Gideon gave his all and tried his best in this game, but Kevin played like he think Gideon wont be able to catch up with his speed. His body language also tells a lot about what he think. It seems like he wants this partnership to be over right after the OG. He think he suppose to be at his prime right now. He has been WR1 and unbeatable for so long. No one would dare to challenge him. Dont get me wrong Gideon is slower since he is in his 30 ps now, but he still show great spirit on court. It is hard to find a partner who could cover Kevin up like Gideon once did.

Kevin need a hard hitter from the back, if you look at all of their losses in big events (2017, 2018, 2019 WC & 2020 olympics) it all happens in slow arena, they got exposed badly since their speed can't be that big of advantage anymore

Sukamuljos speed at the net and in flat exchanges is only a strength if their opponents have to engage him to avoid being attacked from the back. But often they don't. Because the minions don't have the firepower to put it on the floor, it's less dangerous for the opponent to lift it to the back than it is to challenge the net and fight for the attack. Sukamuljo can stare daggers at his partner all he likes, but he is even less of a threat from the back court than Gideon. It's not like if there were 2 Sukamuljos on court instead of Gideon, he would fare any better. He'll just get pinned to the back line.

It's true that doubles pairs can be complementary, and that players can make up for each other's weaker points. But Sukamuljo is such a lobsided player (great strengths and great weaknesses)(and yes, his lack of attacking capability from the back court is a great weakness at that level of play), that he needs a very specific partner to accommodate him. Pairs that consist of more well rounded players are far more flexible in their tactics and strategy. They can adapt and play differently if what they were doing before wasn't working. But if gideon and sukamuljos gameplan stops working, they have nothing else but to die a slow death. I have seen the minions dominate. I have seen them play close games. I have seen them burn out and lose spectacularly badly. What I have not seen, or at least very rarely, is for them to come back from behind to win it.

They're finished. What a good day to be a Malaysian.
Aaron/Wooi Yik didn't take a piss in whooping them Minions. 2 consecutive victories against the #1 pair, no small feat too.

Muhammad Rian Ardianto is a renown bomber from the rear end. Shall he be paired with the mighty, cosmically talented KSS Sukamuljo?

This pair should not be in the top 5 anymore

I think rian is a good choice, the problem though he's very error prone just like kevin, not stable enough like ahsan or gideon. so will it work ?

Maybe pair kevin with daniel. Kevin covers the front and Daniel do the banging.

A mistake to put ahsan and daniel losing to tpe. Probably ahsan was not serious knowing he will qualify. ;)

I'm impressed with daniel not gonna lie...he's so good for a 20 year old. his defense especially is so good, and he's quite powerful from the back.

Hopefully we can see kevin/daniel in the remaining thomas cup :D

Indonesian team is just wasting Kevin’s talent by persisting with the Gideon partnership. If it were the Chinese team they would have been split long ago, they even dared to split good pairs in XD before, that’s the difference.

Too much party, beach girls, juice business have dissolved Sukamuljo in the black waters.

He often looks a step or two behind the opponents, almost confused about his presence on the court since the tour resumed.

Needs to be benched for the rest of the tournament and put back to playing only XD for a period of six months to fit his ego inside the range of his talent and to make him love his partner again

Lol KSS was hot garbage as well for a long time before finally getting his s**t together vs Denmark, on average he did no better than MGF, at least that guy tried his best and didn't blame his partner while being as dangerous as a 15yo girl from the back court :D
Apparently he got some of his mojo back for now, let's see how far that gets him and whether he can actually win a WC or OG tournament or whether he'll always find a way to f**k up the majors
