Hm.. no, they would be 723 short to level with minions points.

Oh geez almost the best comeback of all time by EllisLangridge.. Cant remember when the last time a pair/player trail by 10 points or more , ended up winning the match , and hell not against the home player definitely...(JC did it against VA but he was kinda injured).

thats why when they play at Istora, they made a lot of errors. I daresay that this is not the most optimum location for them. Kevin with so many errors while Gideon isnt a very smart player - all
he do is keep smashing but lack steepness.. opponents attack become much faster and they cant even defend properly/ rotationally.

It will have been better playing in Fuzhou/Musashino , the shuttle condition isnt as fast.

Their match started too late and I could barely watch it. I just remembered it took so long for them to finish G3..

Just watched the replay of G3. I feel that Marcus' made too many errors (hitting the net) to his standard, he used to be pretty solid in fast halls. Kevin was being the usual early round Kevin in fast halls.

Oh well at least they won the match in the end. We'll see if they would play better later against He/Tan.

They are lucky to still be in this tournament.

My suggestion is it will be better if they take a break in between points rather than keep playing. they should know what to do when they lost 3 points after leading that many.. Afterall, they might not be as fast as before anymore. gotta be smarter. Their defence is pretty weak , so it might not be that good playing in Istora.

They have never lost in Istora, by the way.

I didn't think they were out of stamina. G3 I felt that Marcus spent more time at the front net after that huge leading and made alarming consecutive errors at the net. They need to make this formation at least threatening too and it seems like there are so many things to work on.

Minions won in straight games today.

I guess Kevin at the front and Marcus at the back is still the strongest formation for minions. Marcus needs to up his front court skills, he missed quite a number.

They were actually smarter yesterday, they led 14-8 in G1 and lost 3 points and they took a break..

They are riding on 26 matches winning streaks in Istora + AG group think its 28/29. It wasnt LiLiu that last won here in 2017? think its not here. which last pair won in Istora other than Minions?

I think this record stands as the longest for a pair win at any given stadium consecutively..they won 20 matches in Fuzhou and 15 at Japan.. Man their records is uncountable..

    LYD/YYS in 2016.

Honestly the only pair that I can see beating minions in this tournament is fajar/rian.

LYD YYS still had a good 2016. Being retired as WR1 is a dream for many, had he continued i'm sure they will add at least 30-50 more weeks consecutively as WR1.

    Minions to SF vs Chia/Soh.

They won straight sets against Chia/Soh last week. But I hope Kevin to not lose his focus like he did in G2... and Marcus to minimise his errors. Just like the famous phrase "Constant vigilance!!!"

Both Minions and Daddies protect their points this week. FajarRian is closing in WR4. 2 dropped tournaments for KamuraSonoda.

Minions on their match in QF :

Kevin : In the first game, we put the opponents under pressure since the beginning and it worked. In the second game, they were more active and didn't make many mistakes. They played more safely too so it went tighter.

Marcus : The opponents attacked more in the first game, we were in the advantage as we played with the drift we could get our attacks going. In the second game, our offense weren't as efficient and the opponents put us under more pressure with their attacks.

On their match tomorrow vs Chia/Soh in SF

Marcs : We have faced each other quite often, their defense is solid. We has to be more prepared and focused and has to be more confident and sure if we are playing here.

(Daihatsu Indonesia Masters 2020) Lima Wakil Indonesia ke Semifinal, Ganda Putra Pastikan Satu Tiket Final

    (Jakarta, 17/1/2020)

"Dari head to head kami memang kalah 0-2, mereka nggak gampang mati, tenaga terkuras.

Ganda putra Indonesia berpeluang untuk menciptakan partai all Indonesian final.

There won't be any points deducted from Kam/Son even though they skipped both IM and MM, looks like they are pretty safe until AE.

However, minions won't have any points to defend in AE. While Ahsan/Hendra need to win, both Fajar/Rian and Kam/Son need to get to at least SF to defend their points.

Yeah i think the fastest will be MidYear , KamSon will have many points to defend in SO&MO. It also depends on Fajri results on this tournament and they will get extra boost playing in next month team championship.

,, need to protect their AE points though..Minions rank probably wont be touch until Olympics..

When i look at the WR 1-25 right now, i probably think EllisLangridge is the easiest to play against haha. lol. It proves there is no easy match in MD.

    Good luck to minions.

    https://m.badmintonindonesia.org/app/information/newsDetail.aspx?/8922

Kevin : We were prepared and put the pressure from the start right away. We often played them and we just faced then in Malaysia, we know each other well so we were focused since the beginning.

Marcus : We were more prepared than yesterday, so we could get the game going from the start, and score many points. In the second game, they had helped from the drifts with their attacks. Only after the interval, we finally found our game.

As for tomorrow's final against Ahsan/Hendra,

Kevin : There is no special preparation for tomorrow's match, the important thing is to do our best. They have many advantages, vast experiences, we know each other really well. We have to be focused and not let our guard down.

(Daihatsu Indonesia Masters 2020) Empat Wakil di Final, Satu Gelar di Tangan

    (Jakarta, 18/1/2020)

Kemenangan Kevin Sanjaya Sukamuljo/Marcus Fernaldi Gideon atas Aaron Chia/Soh Wooi Yik membuat Indonesia memastikan gelar ganda putra di ajang Daihatsu Indonesia Masters 2020.

Meskipun menang dua game langsung, namun pertandingan berlangsung cukup ramai sejak game pertama.
