Okay first of all, minions are wearing a new jersey blue and white. Same with the opponents.

Second, yay they won the match.. too close for comfort. Li/Liu always steps up when they play at home.. scary! They are so tall and they seemed to be able to reach the shuttles anywhere just by reaching their arms..
    21-18, 14-21, 21-18
Not happy with minions game today, but at least they didn't lose. The drifts seem to trouble their control. Hope they will do better tomorrow.
    Marcus better watch out:confused:

What Marcus said about today's match :

"Our opponents played really well today. Yuchen played so well at the net and they always put pressure on us. They didn't lift too much and played a lot of drives and fast paced game."

Li/Liu in their home country is never easy to defeat. Especially in this kind of hall. We'll see if they could defeat the other pairs in the next two days.

Who beat LiLiu at ChangZhou and FuZhou this year? Remembered Minions beat them quite easily in 2017 CO.

Kevin/Marcus : This first win is so precious.

Kevin : This is round robin system, so every each point and our first win today here are very precious for us, that was why we seemed so emotional. And we do want win. So we have to maintain this momentum as long as possible to keep on winning.
Besides, we felt that our opponents played really well today.

Marcus : Wen we changed end in the second game the drift was different. Therefore the pressure felt heavier compared to that in the first game.

Kevin : (Pastinya) we have to be more prepared for the match tomorrow. We have overcome one obstacle, we must fix what lacking from our game because all the players here are the best.

Marcus : Got to be more focused and not to make unforced errors.

(BWF World Tour Finals 2019) Kevin/Marcus: Kemenangan Pertama Ini Sangat Berharga

    (Guangzhou, 11/12/2019)

A BWF World Tour Finals 2019 Guangzhou.

As expected they lost again to yuta endo. Kevin really ruined their momentum when he keep playing these clears to endo in the first part of the third game, did he really think he can win against endo with that ? and when he decided to be more aggressive after they change ends mistake are creeping in.

So 4 losses in a row now? Have to be concerning.

And they need to win big to guarantee qualification to next round...

Minions will qualify to SF if:

    1. Winning in 2 games against Kamura/sonoda

    Or

    2. Winning in 3 games & Li/Liu NOT winning in 2 games against endo/Watanabe

    Or

    3. Winning 1 game tomorrow & endo/watanabe winning tomorrow

    Source: badmintalk

    Complicated, huh?
Not easy for any pairs; less difficult for endo/Watanabe, still possible for minions & Li/Liu, not totally impossible for kamura/sonoda

Then they are out, right? I think they will look at game/set win-loss first, and they are tied with Li/Liu at 3-3 right now.

Then if they and Li/Liu both won with 2-0 or 2-1, then have to compare points win-loss...

I believe LiLiu will go through.. Whether Minions go through it will depend on them.

Li/Liu 2-0 EndoWatanabe.. Minions can be 2-0/2-1 i guess against KamuraSonoda. EndoW will also do their best who knows if KamuraSonoda can win they can also go through so its tough for EndoW.

This MD group is as good and tigh as CL Ginting group. The truth is i guess, in the end its still winner takes all tomorrow

The momentum changed after Marcus called for medic attention when they were leading 3-1, after that they were kinda stuck at 3 while the JPN cruised away.

Marcus played like sh.t in G3. Worst defense, errors, forgot to variate his attacks at times. Kevin lost interest like sh.t, standing at mid court (to cover for his partner) instead of closing in on the net. Marcus not threatening enough from the back nor at the front. Disappointing G3.
Guess they were lucky yesterday winning Li/Liu.

Well, the thing is to win the war not the battles so hopefully they can get out of the group.

EndoW will have beaten Minions 4 times but out of those 4 times, probably only once they end up winning the title while everytime Minions beat LiLiu (9x in Individual tour, they end up winning the title) So i see LiLiu more of a rival than EndoW, I guess Minions will rather lost to EndoW than to LiLiu. Its the kind of pressure Minions give to all their opponents ( If you beat me in R1/R2, its most likely you wont win the title anyway). I call it the scoreboard title pressure because Minions have 26 ( and so do Momota, you beat him but end loss next round). Well, EndoW beat Minions but even themselves is not guaranteed to progress.

All the best for today's match!

    https://m.badmintonindonesia.org/app/information/newsDetail.aspx?/8837

Kevin : The opponents were more prepared than us today.

Marcus : The opponents weren't easy to die. And the shuttlecocks today were heaver than yesterday's. Our energy was pretty drained too. We feel that our defense wasn't that solid and less solid than the opponents. Beside that, we made too many unforced errors in the end

Kevin : We will just give our best tomorrow.

Marcus : Will definitely do our best tomorrow because the chance is still open for anyone.

(BWF World Tour Finals 2019) Kevin/Marcus Kalah di Laga Kedua
    (Guangzhou, 12/12/2019)

“Lawannya nggak gampang mati.

Congratulations to minions for making it through to SF by winning straight games against Kam/Son.

Can't believe they really defended their way to the victory literally lol
And Kevin picking up pace from time to time.. guess they learned it from their yesterday's opponents.
