Well i'm going to watch minions play in IndoorStadium. My 2nd tour live after Kuching2017 brings back great memories where Minions become champion after beating 3CHN pairs. Minions is most entertaining pair ever be. I mean MenDouble is exciting in itself but without Minions in MD is like without prime LCW/LD. Of course in MD there isnt really rivalry of note. so the onus is on them to keep entertaining. MS has been going downhill , KM is WR1 but his style of play isnt really entertaining. There isnt zippy smash like LeeChongWei. I would say only TTY and Minions are most entertaining players. Marin will be up there but shes injured Im not even sure if LD is considered the best ever player when i see LCW ends up WR1 for 6 consecutive years and probably more. Crazy consistency and longevity must be up there. I think LD is short of getting lazy after winning OG2012, its just that his physics and technique is way beyond others. Cant really blame TH for getting lazy after winning OG and AG.
Your last paragraph made me laugh. It is no open secret that LCW has the most superseries titles in MS maybe in all categories ( I have to check that). And he was ranked no. 1 for many years. But do you really think due to these two reasons he's better than Lin Dan. LCW has lost to LD way many times. He lost to him in 2008 OG final, 2010 AG final, 2011 WC final, 2012 OG final, 2013 WC Final and 2014 AG Final. These 6 defeats tell something, right ? So tell me, why does LCW still have that urge and desire to win any MAJOR like above mentioned events. It is not money, as you seem to say quite often. Worse, LCW then lost 2014 WC Final, 2015 WC Final and then 2016 OG final to Chen Long. I'm sure he'll substite all his SS titles for any major GOLD. Just like Lionel Messi says he would give up all his individual awards for that FIFA World cup for Argentina. LCW is surely a legend in his own but to say best player ever, you've gotta kidding me. And don't bring LD's recent form in your next post. PS- Coming from a LCW fan.
I just hope minions will win WC this year and OG next year. Marcus better be prepared. And there should be no sane person would say LCW was better than LD when the latter still in his prime.
Liking him more - sure. Thinking he was better when he lost all important matches and hasn't won a single OG/WC Gold compared to 2/5 - not if you're sane. For the record, I was rooting for LCW all the way, it just didn't happen. 2011 and 2012 were heartbreaking with how close he was, not to mention 2013...
Thats what messi said even when he said so no one think he isnt the best even if he doesnt win WC. LCW and LD will always cause great debate simply because LinDan title is not that little as well. If he just won say 2WC and 1OG without winning that many other titles, I would say LCW is definitely better player. I am just saying Lin is better player in his prime while LCW longevity amazes me. Definitely top 2 players of all time just like Messi vs cRo.
I would agree that LCW has amazing longevity. However LD is better than LCW (H2H) throughout his career, not just in his prime. Another reason that LCW may have that much longevity is his ultimate desire to win OG/WC .
Very disappointed with the SG open draw 4 pairs INA MD against each other in R1 Minions against Berry/Hardianto Daddies against Wahyu/Ade then Fajar/Rian at top half same as minion
It's not only for INA, CHN and JPN are also have a bad draw. There is only one possible spot for JPN MD in SF. INA has 2 spot possible for them. Discounting the opponents, MAS MDs has the best draw. But they will face Zhang Nan, LYD, and two strong young CHN pairs. But yeah, it's a little worse for INA
