All the Danish MS made it through the first round. That means Peter Gade will meet Kenneth Jonassen next. As far as I know, Jonassen has never beaten Gade in competition. But Gade doesn't seem to be quite up to par these days, and Jonassen has improved a lot during Gade's absense. I think Jonassen actually has the upper hand this time...

There's also Roslin vs Lee TS...

I'm also picking Kenneth J to win. On current form, he is the best Danish player.

Equally interesting is another all countrymen encounter.
    Roslin Hashim vs Lee TS

Wish that Lee TS could pull through, even though this will be a 2 vs 1 showdown, i.e. Lee TS vs (Roslin + Misbun)

Mag, about the head to head record of Gade and Jonassen...
It seems Jonassen actually has beaten Gade once, back in 1995.

    I must admit I didn't know that ;)
    Information found here (in Danish).
Doesn't say in which tournament, but it might have been Danish Open.

I think Gade has not been beaten by any Dane since then... rather good psychological advantage!!

Whizkelv, I share your view at these 2 issues.
KJ is more likely a winner, especially if match goes to 3rd game.
I hope and expect Lee TS beat Roslin.

... and Lee Tsuen Seng won 15-9 15-7!

Sigh, KJ still get beaten up...how come the first game was that bad...if he can make it into rubber set, he might have better chance, I guess.

Thanks, Johnny, I had misse that one. But that was 8 years ago! :D

And Rasmussen beat Gade in '98 if I remember correctly, in a Danish Championship semi.

So he has actually lost twice to Danish players...

I must say that I had expected the Gade/Jonassen match to be a closer affair. It seems Gade was totally in control from the start. Considering Jonassens late achievements, that must mean Gade is playing really well...
