Looking at the score, looks like NO had mental collapse. in such fragile state, she should never be down 6 points or so in beginning of G3.
I think her team just used the wrong strategy ie. try and win by attrition and tiring out the opponent. Perhaps it might have worked eventually, but NO ran out of runway and CYF’s attacking play overtook her at the finish line. A close game by all accounts, but as they say...it’s really hard to defend your opponent to death.
Momota seems to have this uncanny ability to draw his opponents into rallying with him to their detriment, for hardly anybody has his level of consistency in quality shotmaking.
CTC so near yet so far. He did well to stretch the match to 17-17 in the decider till Momota surged ahead with 3 game points. Credit to Momota to hold his nerves and congratulations to him for the title. I think this final was better than last year final. I would like to have a special praise for CTC physiotherapist. She is a lovable, jolly and very positive character. Never saw her in stress.
