Today matches start at 5 PM Paris time, that makes it a bit late for East Asia Schedule and results : http://www.tournamentsoftware.com/s...5D0989-8767-4036-BD07-9ECF428FEF10&d=20121026 Tournament gets tougher with the rounds progressing, Had a few surprising upsets & walkovers so far Today's matches to watch out for: Viktor Axelsen Vs Zhengming Wang (Only CHN remaining), Battle of rising stars Hard to predict JOJ Vs PG(UP) Denish legacy (Wish UP wins this but with the current form JOJ more likely) Saina Nehwal Vs Ratchanok. With the current form SN should win it comfortably but this has to be the toughest match for her in this tournament JS vs XJC. JS should be good for XJC, need to see how good XJC is now since many of the Top CHN WS are falling to their 2nd team level in terms of results the competition there has to heat up MM Vs TB, Minatsu is showing some good results but TB, even though planned her retirement should be too hot to handle for her EH Vs TKC free ride for EH here. KKK/BHT Vs SHK/YDL MAS pair should prevail, hope to see a good match here
They've usually done a pretty good job, especially with lighting and camera angles etc. And one of the official "partners" is Euromedia France, so that should count for something...
Some of the girls are going to have a torrid time of it here! BYX especially, has just maybe 2-3 hours between her 2 matches. MJ has some more time, but she's been almost constantly on court the past 2 weeks. Zhang Nan as well, won't have more than about 3 hours between matches. But ZYL is only playing XD... The most exciting match will probably be KKK/TBH squaring up against KSH/LYD!! Wow!! Ratchanok's been cruising at this event, Saina is finding her range. It's anyone's match. If fatigue just happens to catch up with Saina, this could well end up being May's tournament.
Speaking of Tang Jinhua, that girl has a forehand made of steel! Those almost contemptuous forehand crosscourt flick/drives off the opponent's down-the-line smash, time after time would find her opponents short, and out of position. And you're right; with Ma Jin's patient guidance and astuteness, they won't be losing many games...
Most of the UK papers have, in the past 8-10 hours, claimed that Adcock and Bankier are "back on the winning trail." I just hope that trail doesn't lead them tomorrow into a swamp called ToLyn, who probably have a thing or two to prove, and much more to lose...
Tang Jinhua looks like Bao Yixin from the back with the ponytail, but yes, her smashes really pack a punch. Ma Jin must currently be the coolest WD player around. Her face is totally emotionless, compared to when she first came onto the scene. Looking forward to the rematch later, to see what tactics the Japanese pair will be employing.
They lost one set to Andini/Della Speakin of wd, Pia/Rizky rematch against top seed Kamilla/Christina in qf today, hopefully they can win again Cant believe Ina has to rely on WD this time
I think Inthanon will win in 3 sets as Saina is probably exhausted after all the tight battles since last week.
Towi/Lily have to be very careful esp Towi not to carried away when things got bad vs Adcock/Bankier......
Have you seen li han's match against saina.. Saina had to fight harder than ever.. That went to 3 games.. I have watched that.. I can say that li han is far better than ratnachok who used to make unforced errors ofter. Whereas li han is doing excellent job. She is giving space for the opponents to get points.. Ratnachok may go well if she wont do any unforced errors.. But for saina, she is going well as for now.. Her coach Edwin is doing excellently well. Let us see how it goes.. But it will be aired too late . May be around 10 pm it will be live streamed.. Hmmm. What to do.. They have to think of that.. why not 10 am their local time that itself will be 1.30 pm in india...
Looks like the rest of the world has no respite from the Chinese army in the women's section. They are having an assembly line of sorts where one player goes out and the other one is ready right behind them.... Chinese injured, fatigued, disqualified what all and what not but ROW still have their hands full.... I admire their discipline, determination and hardwork.
This is not about discipline or determination or hardwork, they all come under a system which is what lagging everywhere. System is taking care of you. They produce badminton product one after the other. But here, everybody need to struggle right from getting financial assistance till approaching sponsors etc etc.. Still they are producing good results.. I must say they have separate training methods which whoever follows will be expert in that..
Astro is showing live but usually there is a "time cap" or 5 matches only. Theirs is the 5th match. Hopefully they will telecast it.
Yeah! They are on TV court as well, but you're right, they cut the feed off sometimes. Although they didn't do that at the PSS....
