little chance of hoping re-drawing, i think this bad draw should give the INA WS a good journey to final if they can overcome it.

i hope there's not any withdrawing in this tournament like denmark..so dissapointing..

At least Kendrick Lee does not play a top-ranked player in the first round (like in the Denmark Open).

Overall, I think there are more quality participants in French Open as compare to Denmark in all events.
We hardly see any exciting tournaments after the Olympics and hope French will be THE one. May god bless us and Omitofu :D

looks like lee chong wei should clear his 1st round hurdle when he faces arvind bhat of india and be able to prevail against the #1 of the HKG shuttler, CYK and NW..
a quarter final clash with SS looks to be happening again.

Maria has the capacity to beat Zhu Lin.
So does Pia vs Eriko Hirose, but like most young players, Pia is not too stable yet. I didn't expect her to lose to Judith Meulendijks recently.
Firda vs Lu Lan? I really don't know. Maybe not yet.

Interesting, in XD CHN is experimenting with Zheng Bo/Zhang Yawen. Unfortunate that they are on collision course with He Hanbin/Yu Yang. Where does that leave Xie Zhongbo in CHN plans? Hot favourite will be INA's Nova/Lilyana, but they may face Danish problems.

MAS XD part-timers, Koo and Wong resume their partnership, but I expect the former World Championship bronze medallists will be stopped by Juhl/Laybourn unless Laybourn's injury acts up .....

MD sees another CHN scratch combination in Guo Zhendong/He Hanbin. Could they emulate the excellent performances of Cai Yun/Xu Chen and Fu Haifeng/Shen Ye? Only bad thing is that all 3 are in the same bottom half of the draw.

Zhao Tingting resurrects her WD career with Zhang Yawen. Not sure how well this partnership will do, but I do hope one of the two INA pairs (Vita/Lilyana or Greysia/Nitya) or MAS Denmark SS winners can come out to contest the final, probably against either the tomboy Olympic Champs or the ladylike Japan/China SS winners. Let there be no boring all-CHN WD final contest again ......

In MS, it's everything to play for. With the difficulty in estimating current form of the top pretenders in the top half, it's a toss up between LCW and 3 INA players + possibly Joachim Persson for a place in the final. At the bottom half, Gade would be full of confidence, with his strongest challenges coming from Jonassen and Bao Chunlai/Chen Jin combo. Bao is having some confidence crisis and Chen Jin is still rediscovering his form.

WS is probably the most open and hard to predict, the CHN pretty, talented but inconsistent youngsters Wang Yihan/Wang Lin adding variety to a field that is only missing Xie Xingfang, though Pi Hongyan is still in doubt. I count more than 10 names that could take the crown in Paris. A total nightmare for PAW ......
