The competition started in May this year, with five events including men's singles, women's singles, men's doubles, women's doubles, and mixed doubles, in six different age groups, according to the organizing committee. A total of 235 contestants coming from China, Laos, Vietnam, Myanmar, Thailand, Indonesia, Australia, Malaysia, South Korea, Singapore, and India will compete in the two-day finals. The Yunnan-ASEAN Badminton Competition was created in 2017.
