Today is last day of group-stage matches and quarterfinal scenario will be :

    Q1 -- DEN vs POL
    Q2 -- ENG vs UKR/BUL
    Q3 -- NED vs RUS
    Q4 -- FRA/SCO vs GER

Defending champion Denmark has perfect score so far, all their players won straight-sets against weak opponent, ISR & ITA.

by the way Ukraine lost to Bulgaria. AFAIK it's the only seeded team to fail entering the quarters.

No I followed the live score, until 2-2 and SCO 1-0 up in the WD. Then I put it off, thinking that it was game over.:(

We would probably lose to Germany as well though :)

I don't know about that, I haven't seen any of the matches.

Tomorrow: (do they play all five games, or just till one reaches 3 ?)

    Denmark-Poland 3-0 (or 5-0)
    England-Bulgaria 3-0 (5-0)
    Netherlands-Russia 1-3 (1-4)
    France-Germany 0-3 (0-5)

Russia will be too strong for Netherlands:

Pukhov, Diehl, and Sorokina/Vislova will be too good for their opponents.

Les Bleus were so loud you probably couldn't even hear any scottish support :D. The scottish team were visible behind the court weren't they? Also cheering but without props ...

Shouldn't there be two matches in between if you play in two events (Cicognini)?

Top-seed Denmark didn't field their best player at group-stage matches. Will they play PG/JOJ, Tine Baun, Boe/Mogensen, Laybourn/Juhl or Fischer Nielsen/Pedersen against Poland in tonight QF?

I think you are not right at all for your bet - at least for England-Bulgaria, I don't know the order of play but Bulgarians for sure are going to win WS and WD so... it will be 3-2 loss.... pity but we have weak men part... :(((( As for the winners in ETMC 2011 I think the best 3 teams are Denmark, Germany and Russia. The fight between Russia and Germany will be interesting :)

Those MIA haven't even arrived yet [IMG]. Like has happened before the best ones are flown in come knockout phase ... and I think they will need them against Poland for sure.

What high regard for England you have :D They are at least as strong as Germany and Russia. Better MS, MD and XD than Russia, weaker WS and WD; better MD, XD than Germany and equal MS and WD.
As for semifinals, Germany have the slight edge over Russia with MS and WS almost guaranteed (WS closer) and I'd give them the edge on MD. WD to Russia and XD equal but you never know ...
Thankfully no boring England v Denmark final [IMG]. Denmark vs Germany might actually be interesting with Zwiebler in good form ...

Explain to me why the XD here was not the first match: http://www.tournamentsoftware.com/s...9FB52AC-EF11-4598-9608-E0284D3BDFD7&match=132

While here, as for the rest of the week in similar situations (one of WD playing XD as well) it was:
    http://www.tournamentsoftware.com/s...9FB52AC-EF11-4598-9608-E0284D3BDFD7&match=134
    http://www.tournamentsoftware.com/s...9FB52AC-EF11-4598-9608-E0284D3BDFD7&match=135

That was almost the only match I was looking forward to see . What a waste of entrance fee, 2 hours of badminton for €14 ... Might as well rent a court for that, or go to the "Huishoudbeurs" (sort of Lifestyle Expo) :p.
