Tan Chun Seang seems to have an ankle injury, that might be quite serious... it pains me to say this, but I think this injury has officially ended his career......:(
    Hope he gets well soon.

GWS/TKS has a better 'big match' mentality than Mak/TWK. They were solid against Fang/Lee. About one or two service into the net in the whole match only.

Badminton / Macau Open: Daren gives himself a boost

    http://www.nst.com.my/nst/articles/43macau/Article

Daren delights in surprise win, Chun Seang limps out in defeat

“Daren played the crucial points well in the decider.

“He was brave enough to take chances and play aggressively. He did the right thing by applying pressure on the Indian,” Hendrawan said in a telephone interview.

“He has cleared one hurdle and I hope he will reach at least the quarter-finals.”
World number one Lee Chong Wei and veteran Wong Choong Hann also progressed to the third round with convincing wins yesterday.
Today, Chong Wei will take on Thai youngster Tanongsak Saensomboonsuk while Choong Hann will face Hsing Hsieh-yu of Taiwan.
It was, however, a bad day for Chun Seang when he had to limp out of the court after trailing Taiwan’s Hsieh Yu-hsing 11-21, 13-16 in the first round on Tuesday.
National singles coach Teh Seu Bock said that Chun Seang would head home to get an expert’s assessment on the extent of the injury.
“He hurt his ankle during the first round match here. A check here showed that he has fractured his bone.
“We will send him home to see how bad his injury is,” said Seu Bock.

I can say they improved the most among the lots. First tiime see their performance is in Malaysia Super Series, 1st round i think
losing to KOR pair....after six months, they improved and win a title as well...not bad....

GWS/TKS beat Korea's Kim/Shin to win Vietnam IC, not bad.
Mental strength wise, I rate them as higher than Mak/TWK, due to GWS's being hardy("nervous also I still will kill you") & TKS coolness, stimes seemingly laidback -> at least that's the image they portray on court. ;)

I think is fair to give them 1-2 years to show results.
I hope TWK/MHC and GWS/TKS can be the next top MD for MAS....

To sum up, the Elite pairs(players) in MD:
    Koo Kien Keat/Tan Boon Heong
Mohd Fairuzizuan Mohd Tazari/Mohd Zakry Abdul Latif
    Hoon Thien How/Ong Soon Hock

    Mohd Razif Abdul Latif
    Vountus Indra Mawan
Mohd Lufti Zaim Abdul Khalid - one will be dropped...I guess it could be Vountus so that the number of Elite pairs will be 4.

    Back-up pairs (players) in MD:
    Chan Peng Soon/Lim Khim Wah
    Goh Wei Shern/Teo Kok Siang
Mak Hee Chun/Tan Wee Kiong - these 3 I believe will be the 3 main back-up pairs, followed by a bunch of younger pairs.

    Ong Jian Guo
    Chooi Kah Ming
    Pang Zheng Lin
    Goh Jian Hao
    Law Win Hwi
    Ow Yao Han
    Yew Hong Kheng
    Goh Tze Onn
Tan Wee Tat - one more to be selected from State Open trials to make it 5 pairs.

    Total: 12 pairs in BAM.

My guess is Lufti, Vountus can focus on XD with NPL. But then, Ong SH(25) & Razif (24) also dangerous due to their age. Lufti(22) & Vountus(21) still younger .

Ong JG has been focusing on XD only for some time, due to stamina problem(medical condition)

For MS, Lok CC & Liew Daren most probably will be the ones to be dropped
