Momota lost again, this time lost to Gemke.
don't know what to say about his current performance.
In the past only one or two players were able to beat him, now any player seems to be hard to beat

Momota was playing like he wanted a new coach ^-^

Show the poor performance again and again to get a new coach

Momota lost his speed, confidence and defensive capability.
Post car accident and the resultant injury, has had effect on him no doubt but surprised that it's still affecting him severely. Now, hard to see him back to his pre-accident level. He maybe finished!

If he did not "messed" up after that miss line call, it would probably be easier for him.

I just do not understand why line call decisions can affect a player so much especially when he is so far ahead in the 2nd set.

I really did not expect him to mess up so much seeing that he was trying to conserve energy in the 2nd set. He probably thought he could still play casually and beat Gemke. I think if he was more serious, he could have won.

Momota career is so unfortunate. To me, he is more talented than VA and even from purely H2H its easy to see. From Gambling to Crashing after MalaysiaMasters. His career is prolly wasted by 3 years. Had the normal happened, i doubt VA will have won WC & OG.

That said, VA being Wr1 from Europe its probably good for the sport.

When momota goes back to Malaysia where it all begin, it might help him move past everything, maybe he’ll win the Malaysia open?

maybe it will be better for him if he starts getting through to the QF at least consistently

Actually he can finish the second game faster, but he didn't, he just played slowly and lost many points.

When the chance come, he even was not ready to take it.

To be honest, I really do not know what is his mentality right now.
I understand that he wants to conserve energy but to be honest, he is not even smashing in the 3rd set when he could have just smashed when the opportunity comes and get points. But instead, his smashes are either half smashes or just drop shots. I am pretty sure that when if he actually starts smashing in the 3rd set he would have won.

Also, it's so weird that he got so "frustrated" over a line call when he was already 20-15 up in the 2nd set. To be honest, that line call should not have affected him at all as he is already so far ahead. But he seems to let that line call affect him. I am pretty sure if he did not let that line call affect him so much, he would have easily won the 3rd set as well.

I am so pissed because when i saw him catching up to 17-19 at the first set, I was pretty sure he would probably win the entire game easily and i put money for him to win with a handicap of 3.5 points which is actually very achievable for someone of his caliber.

But he messed his up. The times when he could have smash and did not in the 3rd set wow. I just kept on shaking my head.

As I said, he didn't play "smashing game", so why chose a hard and heavy racket with tension of 33x35 lbs

Momota has worse footwork than before. He used to be on his toes alot more, now hes so flat-footed he actually taking half a second more to just move anywhere. His footwork used to be as fluid as lcw, prime lindan. Now he can hardly move from backcourt to front without looking like his out of steps to get there. He's literally forgotten the basics.... He's definitely lost that "spring" in his step, and I personally believe its a footwork technique problem not a fitness one.

How funny, someone can't differentiate between qualitative data and quantitative data

There is no use to speak to a person that can't differentiate the two anyway. So of course no need to talk further
