Well, I almost got an heart attack when LCW played LD in Rio this year and LD saved 4 match points... ("Here we go again...").

It seems both pairs are content to be through to the SF and are not giving their best effort.

I don't remember LCW serving into the net until this year, he always used to be super consistent at it. Just more proof of how he's starting the inevitable downhill trend. As much as I'd like him to win a WC, he has no chance at this rate.

The only real significance in this MD outcome is the winner gets a bit more than the loser, otherwise treat it like a sparring or exhibition match they'd think.

At around 1998 to 2000 when Lin Dan was an upcoming youngster, 叶成汪( hopefully it is Hendrawan's correct Chinese name) was the best in the world and every aspiring player in China idolised him and hoped to emulate him. That was what LD said in one interview.

The fault called on LCW at the net was too difficult to judge one way or another. What a cruel turn of luck for him. It is obvious LCW is not in the best of form in this tournament.

Those are the ones who have been reported.

No doubt some have not been.

Thanks for telling me. I think it's 万 not 汪.

Funny that his name is just Hendrawan, a single or one-word name. That practice seems to be very common in Indonesia and a few other countries.

The fault call on LCW at the net was an incorrect one. His racquet didn't touch the net but VA managed to return the shot and LCW was out of position. Either way LCW lost the point.

On the replay, it looks like both shuttle and racket touch the tape - he really gives it a whack, and proceeds drive the racket over the net.

I guess it could be called both ways, if must be very difficult to tell from the chair.

Very similar to the fault called on VA yesterday against SWH, that also looked very much like a no foul, but at the replays (from different angles) showed that his racket glide across the top of the tape at the end of the stroke (actually, it was the sound giving it away).

    ---

BTW, what the **** was that service fault called on VA in G2? That was ridiculous...

Umpiring is very bad today. Many ridiculous call. Though it was superb for a while.
