Believe it or not, I hadn't expected Chen/Jia to win the SSF crown at their first attempt, I thought the lack of experience and the pressure of the occasion would get into them, as shown in G2.

See how the two girls kiss her on the cheek, she is like a mother to all the CHN WD players for the longest time. How to retire ? Li Yingbo is wise not to touch her but keep her as long as she wants. I recall reading somewhere, several CHN WD players openly stating they owe their career to her, she is more than a coach to them.

The scary part is these two CHN youngsters can still improve.

Very pleased to watch the new blood's explosive play and be able to defeat the WR#1 and Olympic Gold Medallists

It will be better if China can grow two more new WD pairs at Qingchen/Yifan level of quality or higher.

And I hope Qingchen's dual roles will just last for some time, won't continue permanently. It is no good to have to play in two disciplines in one tournament, taking too much stamina.

During Pan Li's brief return to JiangSu after London 2012 and before Rio 2016, Chinese Women's Doubles were in complete disarray..

Same goes with Tang Xue Hua's retirement, Chinese Women's Singles is now a basket case...

Victory is sweet. That it comes from a young pair matters the most. The old faces fade away, the new ones are coming. Pair like Luo sisters won't go any further. Time for regeneration and total overhaul.

Not surprised the Chinese girls won the match! Certainly a pair to watch as they grow their game and skills to be the next best WD pair.

Wow! 84k USD. If they get half of it, it will be 21K for each of them. That is a lot of money in China for the coming CNY, and CQC has the chance to win at least another 10K. Congratulations to them. They deserve it, playing so hard and with so much determination.

CQQ and JYF are the opposite of the stereotypical chinese badminton player. Much more upbeat, emotional and approachable. Very enjoyable to watch.

Yes, that's quite an amount of money to earn at their ages, and in China that amount will have somewhat higher purchasing power. This carrot should drive them training hard and when in low, remind them of the reward sweetness in performing high.

I'm waiting to see if Tian Houwei has the indomitable will-to-win, if not, he's out.

The question now is who will partner TYT when she comes back. Li Yinhui already has quite a formidable partnership with Huang Dongping.

C'mon, Tian Howei, dare to win.

If you feel intimidated, go home.
