Akane had to win against marin to survive today, and she did. Interestingly, looking at their head to head, they have won alternate matches, with CM winning in straight games and AY needing 3 games to win.
21-14, Akane keeps her hopes alive. But all three, Akane, Marin and Sindhu are in a must-win situation tomorrow to have any hope of being the second-placed finisher in the group. However, Akane has to beat Sun Yu, whilst Marin and Sindhu has to duke it out to see which of the two are still in with a chance depending on the outcome of Akane's match with Sun Yu.
She will, I bet. A real big test for AY, SY is looking really good, but even if she was her usual self I would've voted for her...
Very high drama in WS group B: If Sindhu wins against Carolina, she automatically qualifies for the SF since she won her match against Akane. If Sindhu loses against Carolina, and Akane wins against Sun Yu, Akane will automatically qualify for the SF since she won against Carolina. If Carolina wins against Sindhu in straight games and Akane loses against Sun yu in straight games; then only Carolina will qualify. I think
Lots of drama in other categories as well. In WD the winner of PETERSEN/ JUHL vs SHIN/ JUNG will go to SF In MS the winner of AXELSEN vs LCW will go to SF In MD the winner of KAMURA/ SONODA vs GIDEON/ SUKA will go to SF In XD the winner of HANG/ LU vs ADCOCK(S) will go to SF
High drama indeed. Any of the 3 premutations can come to pass .Predictions would be a tricky business so lets sit on the edge of our seats and enjoy the battle in Group B singles.
if so, akane will continue cos she got 2 win, pv 1, marin 1 if marin win 2-1, akane lose 0-2, then all 3 win 1 lose 2 matches, win 3 games lose 5 games, have to check their points
Yeah redrawing gives a positive outcome but still the trick to become no.2 on group stage works to prevent next meeting with other group's runner-up. That's because of the group winner will be separated on the knockout stage, both of group winners will be placed as seed 1 and 2 of the knockout stage. Redrawing just about determined whether the next match is between the same group or the other group. That's all. Redrawing knockout group will not possible to place winner's group against the other winner's group. Redrawing concepts always placing winner against runner-up. Redrawing just only for the same/different's group will become the next opponent.
The drama may ended with this scenario: All 3 players will have 2 winning points. Sindhu wins against Carolina (75% possibility) Akane wins against Sun Yu (45% possibility)
To me, the most improved WS are P V Sindhu, He Bingjiao, Akane Yamaguchi - in that order. mobdro vidmate
