To make the Superseries Finals (or the future World Tour Finals) more successful, I think the Finals before the Olympic year should be held in the upcoming Olympic city. For example, the Finals in 2019 should be held in Tokyo, so that players, coaches and officials will treat it like the final rehearsal before the Olympics (eg, same venue, same round-robin format).

Also, if it were held only once every two years (like in odd-numbered years only) instead of every year, players will take it more seriously.

BWF will then only have to worry about selecting a host city for the Finals once every four years (eg, like in 2017, 2021, 2025).

Obviously if the above suggestions are taken in by BWF, rules for qualifications for the Finals need to be revamped. I think the more similar to the Olympics, the better.

nahhh, I prefer it to be like now. I think it is already very good

As long as the place sticks to Dubai and the concept and destination Dubai is maintained, as well as the conjunction with
'Year End BWF Gala Dinner', I see the SSF will always be as a successfull tournament for some decades to come

Yeah dubai is good...good quality badminton manageable drift.....i like the setting where only the courts have lights and it is dark all around like in AE,china open , Dubai final stages..

For the olympics rehearsal maybe they can hold the preceding super series at the same stadium...coz currently it is not the same stAdium i think.

Tomorrow is the Drawing time. I wonder if there will be a live streaming for that draw ceremony as last year

It would be a good idea to have the year end finals in the Olympic venue. But you would have to overcome the sponsorship and other logistic issues.

For instance Dubai wouldn't sponsor the tournament to be held in another city. So could a one off sponsor be found? It's not that easy to find a city to host the year end finals. The Olympic host city and association are already busy with the Olympic preparation. The Olympic venue may not even be completely ready. These are not minor things that can be easily overcome.

I don't think there is anyone in the competition good enough to stop the great Kidambi Srikanth of India.

By Far, the Most Offensive Player of 2017. His Smashes are like bullet and seems to emit lightning. His defense covers the sky and the sun together with the earth. His beard could jail opponents.

Well the thing about Dubai SSF is to get Semifinal.

I think head to head in groups are not important.

I really dont like the fact that KevinGideon who have better H2H and last meeting (7/8 basically they are better) have to play unimportant group stages in which their last meeting could get blemished. but yeah, whatever, most important is SF first.

Shi Yuqi will provide good practice to Srikanth and Viktor Axelsen as the prodigious Danish Giant and 'The Scary man' of Badminton blow their trumpet in the direction of Semi Finals.

Let's hope Son Wan Wo could produce an upset or two coz i always feel bad when a talented player is told he is not good enough to progress anywhere.

Both Bing Bingjiao and Yufei have got a punchable chance of progressing to hopefully FINALS, why not?
