Yep, same here. I usually play four days a week and 4 hours a day on average. This summer's become a heaven (except summer school on Tagalog though ). I'm also thinking of joining a tournament this summer but it's only four mixed doubles at my age group, and not alot of girls at my age group from graduate backyard badminton here. The coach told me to join the adult age group instead, which is more exciting since it's something different. Keith
A british county-coach asked me something similar before. He asked, "are you used to the heat?" I told him, "I was born here (Manila). I grew-up here. YOU NEVER get used to the heat!" During summer, the temperature inside the courts can approach 38 degrees Celsius. My friends and I usually drink LOTS of water and Gatorade (or any sports drink). My fluid consumption can be as much as a gallon during a two-hour badminton session.
We have special training sessions twice a week so I play heavier then usual, normally only one training session a week and 2-3 other days I play games. Now it becomes 2 days of training and 1-2 of playing games.
during the summer i enjoy playing badminton even more although i dont get the oppotunity to play anymore than regularly, although usually in the summer i come of court looking like i have just been swimming
not this summer unfortunately :crying: ... I guess all I will be doing this summer is going to the gym, workout a bit, hangout with my friends and get a JOB ( I really need a job since the tournaments are so expensive and I feel so guilty wasting my parents money ) ...
I love my sportsclub. When the entire country (well almost) stops abdminton. we go jogging/sprinting in thw woods, with hills and rough sand an stuff...and after 1,5h of training (mostly interval) we play badminton... even some singles if we feel like it (and yes, I'm a singles player, so I feel like that a lot) just the other day the club-talent wiped me of the court 21-17..then he was tired. so was I, time for bed
Talking about that I might come to CNH again for a retry. If I have time..since I'm off for piano for 2 months--teacher's getting a baby.
I keep playing badminton but not as often...Beach Volleyball and soon to be golf and tennis will take over the summer months.
I play A LOT more than usual, because school is out. 7 days a week, 4-5 hours a day. Screwed my knees up really badly though.
Went to play at a cc today..MAN did they turn the heat or something. It was so stuffy and hot. My friend was complaining too lol. But I'm pretty sure it's nothing clue to the summer. Hehehe bring 100000 shirts!!! I'm just curious does c2 have air conditioning in the summer?
I play throughout the year. I use Summer as my off season and work on my base fitness. Running and lots of pre season training on court as well. At my association we are trying to push for the Summer pennant to be as competetive as the other pennants.
In the summer holidays our gyms are closed. Doesn't mean I stop playing Badminton during summer, but I play less often because we have to go to Badminton centers and that gets quite expensive within 6 weeks. So I try to build up my general fitness during summer holidays, more running, skipping, and fun sports like inline skating and so on.
