DENMARK has never held a Thomas or Uber Cup I just noticed something interesting. Throughout the history of Thomas Cup, there were only 2 times, the event was held outside of Asia..And those were in Scotland(48-49) and England(81-82)..And amazingly, *NEVER* held in Denmark, eventhough they've held other tournaments there...Hmm, could this be one of the reasons why Denmark has never won the TC??..Or coud it be they just didn't have a stadium/sports hall big enough to hold such event??.. http://www.badmintoncentral.com/vb/showthread.php?t=12819 On the opposite end, the Uber Cup has been held 5 times outside of Asia, and 3 of those times they were held in the U.S. Guess who won those 3 eventsll?? yup, the U.S...
i think tc will never go to danmark next tc 2008, they will miss good players. KJ, eriksen/hansen will retire
ya !!!tan boon heong is taller than CTF and LWW. but he not that big than LWW......... He has very good potential. hope we can see him again.
he must be coached by indra gunawan, becos indra said that he's a good player, he just need a good coach
Just woke up to check the messages. I went to sleep as soon as China won. Too much sleep deprivation from watching badminton is bad mine turn. Congrats to China. It looks like a full strength Malaysian team would probably have lost to team China as well.
hand signals Fu Hai Feng/ Cai Yun make some hand signals to their partner at the back before they serve. one finger and five finger signals. anybody knows what they mean? definitely its not short serve and flick serve because i noticed Cai make a short serve each time after making a one finger signal and five finger signal.
Actually i only noticed Fu making the signals, I didnt see Cai doing the same thing when he serves (similar to the semi finals match).. or maybe I wasn't paying enough attention
I wondered about the signals as well... I only used to have that when playing volleyball... didn't they have that in badminton too!
When playing doubles in table tennis we used to have signals about making top spin, side spin or cut on the serve. I have never seen the use for signals in badminton really, but I can only guess that sometimes it's good to know if your partner is going to make a long serve.
China. Congrats to China! Very impressive and strong team. I don't expect Malaysia to beat them as well. They will still be extremely strong in the coming years as all their player are still very young. See you in the next open games! rgds
I've noticed that .. well, I might be wrong, but I think the one-finger signal means that Fu is going to serve short and closer to the T, and the five-finger one means short and further away, more to the middle. I have yet to figure out what the signal is for a long serve .
I'll try to ask them for you fellas when I see them in Malaysia Open. Fu's hand signals are discussed during the semis as well.
I think Bao went back and shook Kenneth's hand after his victory celebration. One of his fellow team mate pointed out to him after the group hug. You can see him walking towards the court after.
OK i have come to the conclusion that TC is hazardous to your health and finances: 1) Numerous cases of "heart attack" and hypertension 2) Sleep deprivation prevalent 3) Productivity at work at all time low 4) Possible cause of motor vehicle accidents as fans rush home to watch games 5) Spread of germs through kissing the Cup These symptoms must be recognized and antidotes found in preparation for the next TC in 2 years Dr. mb
Congrats to China for winning. Denmark played well..but China was better this time again. I think the Finals will be much closer if Malaysia is playing. Oh well.. maybe have to wait for 2 more years.
